tee hehee lets just say i got a little superzoom crazy when picking out a camera ....should have just bought an slr but dang all those lenses you have to buy........i can have a supermoon any time of year lol...

That is absolutely insane! Do you mind me asking how much it cost? Everyone bothers me about getting an actual SLR camera but I really don't want something big and clunky to carry around. It really takes me out of the moment.

ooh sorry for the late reply it wasnt much more than my first canon this one you can get for $300-400 .....my little canon the sd990 ive had for 16 years now lol was almost $500 guy on ebay jipped the price up on it a little ..but i got great pictures out of it.....this one this new one is fairly cheap ....and you can even get lenses for it i got the www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot… .. theres supposed to be an eclipse in august i may have to get the polorize lenses for this one if i can...
its still pretty good sized camera a bit of weight on it..but if your steady you can get some great shots...at least you dont have to carry around big heavy lenses...and i also hope in the future that they add cdhk to this type..they havent yet but i think they may be trying to port it....i hope..with the cdhk you can take automatic pictures of lighting and anything that moves

It's really funny you say this now because the other day my boyfriend bought a DSLR camera at a pawn shop near where we live. I was there at the time. A camera, mount, lens, and charger were all in the clearance case. Total for everything was about $35. I tried it out once or twice but I really don't know what I'm doing. The lens is a manual focus. Not sure how I feel about it.

guess it depends on how much you play with it...the only thing about a manual focus..mine does have it.. you just have to use a tripod all the time...i dont know how well it would get the quick action shots like butterflies and kids....i have been working more since a few people left at work ..one was on third shift not that i mind..but we cannot keep good help cause we dont pay that well...and ive been working 3rd shift all the weekends...and im just outta whack....i dont know where up is anymore lol....a dslr can be a good thing i guess it seems to be more professional but i dont like the thought of lugging heavy lenses around that can get stolen...the stories ive heard where peoples entire systems get stolen...and no way to track them

Oh man that sucks.... I know you said you're okay with it but I know it messes with your natural sleep cycle after a while.
The worst story I heard was when I went to Antarctica from the roommate I had at McMurdo Station. She had another person in her research group who was in charge of bringing down all of their scientific equipment, including a $12,000 camera. EVERYTHING got stolen. They suspect it was TSA but they can't prove anything and of course TSA never can be at fault for anything, so the guy had to try desperately to reorder all of the equipment on his credit card and hope it could be shipped down to him. I don't know what ever came of the situation.

back on dayshift for now but ive developed a bad back pain and it bothers me to sit up for very long standing doesnt bother me but sitting is a pain....a very very bad pain in the arse......i have heard stories of which agencies would have certain evidences taken or confiscated if people ever had actual evidence of anything paranormal or wierd its why i hate the government aka illuminati..what good is a camera if your not allowed to use it ....i think it could have in your case been the tsa thats all they are good for...if only you had a gps device on those equipment you could have a case a very big case lol....why would it kill them to let the cat out of the bag for anything...heaven forbid you catch a real alien..theyd put it on display in some zoo or take it apart like frog on dissection day. but that would start a war with aliens and they wouldnt want that....shoot ive even heard they had bases down there and they were in cahoots with the illuminati..... you still need a camera to catch people doing bad things to the environment...i feel sorry for that guy who was in charge of all that...

Well, my takeaway from all that is to never EVER have a checked bag if I can help it. I managed to go on my vacation to South Africa and then Rhode Island for 3 weeks and only needed a backpack and one carry-on. I had to wear some of my clothes twice before washing, but it was worth not worrying about it.
