Yeah that doesn't seem like it would be hard, although I don't know anything about how to use that. Man I still have Blender on my computer but I haven't touched it in 3 years. I had grand plans of getting good at it. haha

I've only made simple shapes. But that's all I really want to get good at doing in it. haha My favorite category of 3D art is simple geometric shapes.

you ever heard of vue i wish i had that they can make some amazing landscapes with that but i bet it would be a hundred times more complicated than blender hahaha

Ah yes I've seen a lot of what people have done with that and it's so awesome! My second favorite genre of 3D art is landscapes. I used to change my wallpaper on my computer every day until it got hard to find a steady stream of 3D rendered wallpaper I liked.

i been wanting to learn how to do the 3d depthmaps i understand a little but its so hard to get right...ok the magic eye thing is pretty darn cool...especially if you can learn to draw in 3d www.hidden-3d.com/games_stereo…
been playing around with that a little so far the only sure fire way to make something 3d and it look like something is to take a photo and draw it as you see it in grey values uuuughhh.......

Oh my God that would be the most phenomenal security code system ever! (Hiding a code in a stereogram.) So many people wouldn't be able to get into other people's accounts.... Actually, I wonder what percent of the population can see stereograms. Hm....

I guess that explains why some stereograms I've looked at don't look like anything. haha I mean I would see the shape, but I couldn't tell what it was supposed to be.

i can see them fairly well...  i bet it would be incredibly hard for most to get into their own accounts hahhahah....i watched a youtube  vid where they was litterally painting a photograph directly and using greyscale gradients to make a 3d scene would be so cool to paint those ive seen some pretty nice ones on here depthmaps.deviantart.com/galle… man that takes patience ..hhahha

I'd think there would reach a point where a depth map would be too complicated to see in a stereogram though, right? Especially if the picture itself was fairly complicated with different patterns and such.

well i think the depth map is what they call the actual image that is formed  or used...even one that is simple which they use height maps for landscapes

Kimi-Parks In reply to loreleft27 [2015-11-14 22:01:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah but if the map is too complex it's sometimes hard to see. Or maybe that's just people not doing a good job creating the map in the first place. There have definitely been times where I was able to see the hidden image but couldn't tell what it was supposed to be.
