SOOOOO i hate the film, love the books, have been dying to draw the characters for ages and now i finally have!! xDi've not done all of them obviously but i want to see what people think of the main characters so i figured i'd upload these just now =w=
just to explain: murtagh brom and maybe eragon v2.0 i am happy with, maybe angela too. Eragon i think looks too young or just doesn't feel as eragon-ish as i wanted him to look ^^' and i think Arya looks too made up here
but i'd like to know what people think so feel free to say whatever you like ^^
I think Eragon wears a cloak in my head because it's fantasy, he travels, and when you travel in fantasy stories you wear cloaks,.... you just do O-O
Brom just suits a cloak methinks. Also the one thing i did actually love about the film was Jeremy Irons as Brom, since i think he's perfect image and personality-wise so i picture him like Irons ^^
Angela, i kind of pictured her mad and witty, so i don't know if that comes across here, but yeah, she's mad and witty and generally brilliant.
Arya and Murtagh just from the book description ^^
the v2.0 thing is because in the book eragon is changed at one point, and is actually enhanced and made more elf-like. so his features are described as becoming more angular and his ears pointed. In fact i think there's a quote - something about him now being "more beautiful than any man, but more rugged than any elf"? haven't read them in AGES though so i'll need to get back into them again ^^'
planning to draw the rest of them, once i have time and once i remember who else is in the books ^^' -shot-

I agree the books are really good, and I love them but the movie just really sucks. I lot your drawings because there similar to what I imagined Eragon, murtagh, Brom, angela and arya to look like

wow! I also am in love with the books... they are really good! Although the movie was really bad- Saphira in the movie looked as though she had feathers!! (no-offense) You are amazing. Just how i pictured them!

YES they are really good books! and i totally agree, i thought the movie sucked compared to them - it's not a bad movie on it's own tbh, i mean i've seen a lot worse, but compared to the books... just no. xD AND YES i really didn't like that about movie saphira! i think i'm maybe just being picky because i always pictured her with more stretched-scaly-skin/traditional-dragon wings because of the book description and the designers maybe just thought it would look nicer so they don't really deserve all the backlash they're getting. but still i thought they could've been more faithful to the books.
LIKE THE URGALS!!! what were they all about!? they were supposed ot be viscious ugly green-with-big-horns monsters, and in the film they were just regular scruffy/tough looking guys with war paint!! (no offence if you liked them xD i just didn't like them at all)

haha I agree with you- And don't worry, your not picky! They just totally ruined it LIKE REALLY BAD! I guess they probably had a bad director or something (no-offense!!)

I am a huge fan of all the Eragon books, although I have never seen the movies.. These pictures are amazing!!! I especially love Murtagh (he's just as I pictured him!!!). I agree with you in that Eragon v.1 looks a bit young and naive (eragon v.2 is alot more elvish). Arya feels a little bit plastic-princess-y here, but the drawing is still very nice. I would reccomend maybe making her a little more powerful and solemn, more of a huntress than a princess. Angela is WONDERFUL!! The feeling is just right!!! She seems flustered and slightly disorganized, just her character. Brom is just as I amagined him (is anyone else thinking Ewan McGregor, Star Wars style?) AWESOME!!! And Eragon and Murtagh are so darn cute!!! Would it be O.K if I put this on my horseland.com webpage (credits to you of course)?
Also, it would be cool if you did Roran, Nasuada, Ra'zac,or possibley Elva, Solemnbum or Maud.

You should make one of these of Roran, Nasuada, Jeod, and Galbatorix. These are really awesome by the way. Eragon (especially v2.o) and Murtagh are almost exactly how i pictured them.

yeah i'm thinking of doing a big kind of sketch dump of as many characters as i can eventually! i haven't read the books in ages though so don't have a very good idea of what the others look like any more, but i've just got the new book and am going to reread the others maybe over christmas so i remember what's going on haha xD

thank you very much! i'm really glad you like young eragon, he was actually the one i spent the most time on but no one seems to picture him as young as i do (not that i mind but it's nice to hear someone else thinks the same as me
yeah i completely forgot the description of Brom, even though originally i pictured him with a longer beard and a lot older, i liked jeremy irons so much in the film i started to draw Brom to look more like him. but i think i do picture him older now that i think about it, i'll probably redraw them soon and i'll make sure to be more faithful to the books

I think you pictured it perfectly 
Murtagh is gorgeous, Arya and Angela too, but I never understood why the makers of Eragon movie picked Jeremy Irons as an actor of Brom ... In my opinion, he don't fit on Brom's character at all. Brom in the book has long white beard, and he is a reeally old man, and Jeremy Irons didn't looked like that ...
But it's only my opinion

ah i see, yeah i know what you mean, i think when i read the books the first time i had this image of Brom with a long white beard so i was confused too when they cast Jeremy Irons. heck, when i saw pictures of the cast i thought John Malkovich who played galbatorix was supposed to be brom lol xD. but i guess i thought i'd just read it wrong t the start so now i picture Brom a bit younger, especially since i know more about him and his relations and i thought jeremy irons did a really good job acting Brom even if he didn't look like him >w< but yeah i see what you mean there

ah yeah i agree completely, the movie was terrible compared to the books. On it's own i suppose it wasn't bad for a fantasy film (i've heard a few people say they liked it and they haven't read the books) but it can't compare to the original story at all like some other movie adaptations. Yeah i agree! I think he would do a great job directing it! I'm not sure the problem is directing specifically though, i think it's any part where they're trying to change the book to screen. But you can tell some directors are really into the books and want to make it as faithful as possible, and i think Peter Jackson is like that
Also i actually thought Durza in the film was really good, but i haven't heard many opinions on him. I thought he looked pretty spot on with the creepy make-up and that red hair, and i thought Robert Carlyle did a really good job at making him sinister and kind of mad, he freaked me out xD

Yes, I agree too, and I think the whole movie was a huge waste of time and money, and if someone else would be in charge of Eragon movie, it'd great, high-rated and entertaining.

I love how you drew Eragon, especially the elfish version. That smirk looks very Peter Pan-esk! And I think that he does look his age because I feel like people tend to bump up the age of a lot of heros, but Eragon is still just a kid.
