EDIT: which i placed 3rd in!!
The theme is COLOURS!!!
and you had to pick ONE colour and draw a pic with it - though you could obviously have black and white aswell . you could pick from red, orange, yellow, green and gray (no blue - my fav 
)so i picked green! since i also love green and i have a lot of green copics
and who better to be the representative of green than Miku Hatsune!!! lol her hair took FRICKEN AGEEESSSSS!!! i'm actually surprised i didn't colour it in completely wrong
it's like colouring in the optical illusion of the elephant that you always see - the one where you don't know how many legs it's got! 
it hurt my eyes 
oh and just to mention - i actually have no idea why there are birds there
i was planning on doing a more complex pic with music notes and stuff coming out of the headphones, but it looked too confusing so i took them out.... but i left the birds coz i thought they fitted 
dunno why tho The title "midori no tori" means green bird
( i think) - named it that coz i had to make the birds relevant somehow hope this counts for the contest
it really was a challenge! (a fun one though ) especially to draw a person without using skin tones hopefully the shading on the clothes and ribbon things counts as "not-gray" i did only use a black pen - no pencil 
*is proud* though i did have to tweak it a little on the computer coz my scanner made it too light anyway, i hope you like it
i actually quite like the whole monochromatic-but-not-really-ness of it i might draw more like this

You guys must be getting hit pretty hard with the snow. I remember this one year we got about three feet out here, but the roads were okay and whatnot, because we've got a pretty decent plow system going on for the winters. And salt. And epic snow tires. However, there was this one year when my family couldn't drive our van up the hill to get to our house because it was really icy, which made us slip.
And yeah, watching old people bowl is pretty funny. I's almost as good as watching old men play sports that they think they're good at, but they're not. XD

Oh, yeah, if the snow doesn't usually stick, then I can see how you guys wouldn't be too prepared for it. Where I live, the air is really dry, and once it gets cold enough for the snow, it usually stays cold enough for it until the spring thaw. XD Which is fine, because that means it's ski season! But yes, black ice is the worst.
As for the old men... Yes it is! This year for Thanksgiving a whole bunch of guys in my neighborhood got together to play some football... Even though it was only flag football, it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Yeah, flag football is fun. However, I don't quite understand why we call soccer (your football) soccer instead of football and call football football. It would be better switched around, so people don't get confused. The only other country that calls it soccer is Japan. XD

Aw, that sucks. Music lessons are fun... Though, I didn't really have any after sixth grade... But yeah, hopefully, the recession recedes soon. Our government paid millions of dollars that they didn't really have in the first place to car companies that were going to go out of business...
