Description Dagorlad. While portrayed in the movie prologue as a pitched battle with only High Elves and the men of Gondor and Arnor against orcs, the host of the Last Alliance in writing consists also Woodland Elves under Oropher and Amdir, and Dwarves from Khazad-Dum. For this battlefield became sorrowful, with the hasty wood elves charging to their deaths, depleting a large reserve of their warriors, including the kings. Now their sons Thranduil and Amroth take charge. Also a departure from the movies, after the fateful battle of Dagorlad, a 7 year long siege was imposed on Barad-Dur.

As such, the host of elves and men start making fortified campsites for the prolonged campaign, to sustain themselves for an uncertain period of time as well as to counter any orc attacks trying to attack. Here is the mostly elven section of the wall, with each of the campsites segregated into the blue tents of the high elves and green ones for the woodland folk, along with some Dunedain campsides and outsides on the left side of the camp, manning a makeshift outer wall, made out of stones and carts which mark the everchanging front line of the armies. There they make camp, restocking equipment, armour and supplies, replenish themselves with food and drink and prepare for combat ahead. Then the commanders encamp themselves on the hillside, with Gil-Galad taking up headquarters on the largest hill with Aeglos, gathering the commanders of the free people to council and to plan out for the upcoming sieges, assaults and battles ahead...
