Description

Here's a new Fakemon guys! This is my first fossil Pokémon!

As you know, the Noslo region is a very ancient continent and therefore is full of ruins just over the outskirts of modern cities, and mountains and ancient forests hide several fossils, perfectly preserved in the cold and often freezing environment.

Slatch is clearly inspired to a sloth, as you can see. Researchers resurrected it from the fossils to see if they could be of any use to their experiments on Pokémon genetics or to see if they could become good fighters.

Name: Slatch

Type: Rock/Grass

Species: Slow Pokémon

Height: 2'0" (0.60 m)

Weight: 88.0 lbs (40 kg)

Ability: Slow Start

              Hyper Cutter (Hidden Ability)

Fakedex entry:

These Pokémon lived in the Noslo region almost 20 million years ago: fossils of this Pokémon have been found in forest areas... They're known for their love for moss and other plants, which they cut into tiny pieces with their sharp claws.

Scissors Fossil:

A fossil of a prehistoric Pokémon who once lived in forests. It looks like a claw that used to be very sharp.

Fun facts:

- Slatch is inspired to a Prehistoric Sloth (or Megatherium);

- Its name is the combination of the words Sloth and Scratch.

- Slatch can be revived through a Scissors Fossil.

Evolution line: SLATCH ---> lv. 40 ---> SLASHEAR

It doesn't look flat, it IS flat. I did it on purpose because I liked how it looked.

Well it's good to know it was on purpose.

Sloth fake have been done many times but this is the first one I've seen that emphasizes how huge sloths' claws are.

Did you mean "moss" instead of "musk" in its dex entry.

Glad to have brought something different to the sloth-based fakemon!

Oh yes, I meant moss. Must have mixed it up while writing, I was in a hurry. Thanks!

Cute design! I'm not really seeing the grass typing tbh, but I really like its simple aesthetic!

Yeah the fact is that I didn't know wether I should have left it just a Rock type or not. In the end I chose to give it Grass type anyway considering its future evolution too.

Wow ... it actually looks quite nice with the rocked and flat face and the quite weary looking claws ... I love it

What also intrigues me is the small description .. is the Noslo region really that cruel that it uses unknown creatures to be created for genetics and ... for fighting? Just created for that?

Yet it's not any different from what we do with our mammoths and other animals to be cloned ...

I like it though adds another wonderful facet to your world

Thanks, glad you like it! I went with the flat face to make it a little bit different than usual, also I thought it looked funny.

More about what Noslan scientists are up to will be said in the near future! Just know that science is heavily used on living organisms to push the limits and boundaries of genetics. For what purpose? I will reveal it some day. 'Til the... speculate! xD

Yes, it does make the design looks unique and funny
Oh, I'll keep my speculating to other subjects but I'd like to think it's something sinister, I'm sure I won't be annoyed by your solution

Very nice! It's based on a Megatherium right?

Yup! Though I know they are a species found typically in America, I couldn't come up with a satisfying design based on scandinavian fauna and/or flora... so I went with the giant sloth. xP

That's totally fine, my Australia based region has a spinosaurus and a stegosaurus as the fossils
