Description
Tabbris finally had her home finished, and she'd moved everything in that she was taking with her, as well as the bare essentials for, well, living in a place. The kitchen was sparsely furnished but acceptably stocked, and she would be able to use the small amount of fire magic she'd learned to cook for herself and her children. Her bedroom was decorated with all of the little trinkets she'd collected from the Nook, things like childhood drawings and shiny stones, as well as books on the shelves full of magic and fantasy and heroes and a desk filled with material for writing. The area that doubled as a sitting room and dining room was full of some of the original bookshelves, which were filled with a wide variety of texts, most of which were whatever was left over from the previous owner of the house. Then there was the second bedroom. It had the least furniture of all, with two beds, two dressers, and two end tables. The room was very barren, but for the purpose of her children being able to decorate it to their own standard. She didn't want to decorate for them because she knew they would make it suit their own interests, and that was a thing she wanted to encourage with them, especially when there was so little a wyngling could do to personalize their own space in the Nook outside of hanging up drawings and keeping their things in their cubbyholes.
She really hoped her children would like the space.
She had postponed leaving for a while because she enjoyed living in the Nook, and being there gave her a better chance to come across another wyngling that she would be able to care for, like Phoenix. She had felt a near-instant connection to the little fella, and she was glad to finally be moving out with him, to give him a place to explore beyond the bounds of the Nook. But he would need siblings to play with, and she just hadn't found any wynglings she thought would click with him well, nor another one that clicked with her. She was musing on this one day when she remembered the egg - the one she'd brought in so long ago.
"Alma," Tabbris called, panting as she caught up with her. She had been going around the Nook all day, led to and fro by wynglings who claimed to have seen Alma last, and after many close encounters, Tabbris had finally found her. "Alma, I have a question - that egg I brought in a while ago, what's the wyngling's name? Do they still live here?"
Alma looked confused for a moment before recollection lit up her face. "Oh, yes! The egg!" Her expression grew troubled once more as she added, "I'm sorry to say that it hasn't even hatched yet. Why?"
"Hasn't hatched - ah, blast it. Alma, thank you so much for providing a home for me for so long," Tabbris began earnestly, a completely serious look on her face, "but Phoenix and I are leaving soon, and I want to find at least one more sibling for him. I think - I think I want to adopt the egg."
There was a hesitation before Alma spoke, then she prompted softly, "You do know.... If the wyngling hasn't hatched yet, it certainly might just be late. It's a very likely possibility, we get all levels of growth here, and during the last egg-check it seemed healthy. But, Tabbris, you are aware that it might not...?"
"I'm willing to take that risk," Tabbris responded firmly, plenty aware of what might happen. She and Phoenix both might be disappointed. But it was certainly worth a shot. And if it didn't hatch - well, she was already planning on still helping around the Nook sometimes between other odd jobs. Not to mention, Phoenix would need playmates even until the egg hatched. She could find him another little sibling, or maybe he could find one himself.
"Well then," Alma said after observing her expression, "let's get that paperwork filled out, shall we?"

Tabbris hugged each of her friends goodbye, concious of the precious cargo strapped in at her chest. "I'm going to come back to see you guys often, so be good," she said sternly, tapping the end of Lavi's nose to point her out especially. She'd begun to notice the way her friend was acting as of late, and while it was getting concerning, Tabbris wasn't sure what to do beyond a stern word or two, or if it was even a problem. "And come find me as soon as you grow up if I'm not around!" she added to Fortune, fitting her fingers between the spikes on his cheeks so she could squish them together. He was her first friend of those she still had, and one of the only ones that wasn't yet an adult - she would hate to miss being able to congratulate him right away.
"I'll be sure to come find you," Fortune assured her, puffing out his chest with a grin. "I gotta make sure you know when I get taller than you!"
"You bet," Tabbris chuckled, absentmindedly ruffling Fleur's hair tuft gently as she did so. "And you're all welcome to come fish by the house or just - y'know, stop in to chat. Also to tell me when you grow up too, Fleur, and all of you to show me any changes! You guys look weirder and weirder every day!" She gestured for Phoenix to come a little closer as she added, "Wanna be the tallest one here until Fortune grows up?"
"Yeah!" Phoenix yelled in excitement, hopping on his feet and making the collar he wore clink slightly.
"Then hop on - and be careful of the egg." Tabbris patted her back, gesturing so he would get the gist.
"You're really tall now!" Marigold commented at the wyngling as Tabbris straightened up, Phoenix now sitting on her shoulders. She grabbed his feet to make sure he wouldn't fall, unwilling to let him get hurt his first day officially out of the Nook with her.
"I'm the tallest ever," the wyngling boasted, holding himself up even higher. "As tall as an imp, even! Or taller!"
"We'll be off now." Tabbris chuckled and gave the others one last wave, smiling at Alma, who was seeing them off from the doorway of the Nook. Her eyes trailed up to the colorful building, taking it in as her home for one last time. She had grown up here, and Alma was the closest thing to a mother she'd ever get or need. This was a home to her - but the place she'd built would feel like home in time, and she was excited to show her son.
"So, hey," Tabbris said, eager to start up a conversation before they got there.
"Hm?" Phoenix said, looking down at her as best he could from his perch. He was enjoying this new vantage point, which was a far taller one than he was used to having, even if he had to hold Tabbris's hair down to properly see.
She grinned as she spoke the next words, hoping he'd be as excited as she felt at her proposition. "How do you feel about raising puckoo?"

Tabbris has officially moved out of the Nook!! She's left with Phoenix and the egg to move into the house she built, and she does have one more planned kid that I've talked to a friend about at this point, we just have to work out the details. Her plot is just getting started though, and if you want more details or are interested in being involved, here's a quick link . >:3c
