When Peril threw her wings around Sunny, who was protected by the necklace she wore, had created for that purpose, Sunny felt the stinging of her wounds fade away, though shock was written all over her face at being so suddenly assaulted. It was like a wave of lightness overcame her when her friends approached, and Peril's embrace served to lift her heart high on that tide. As she pulled back a bit to look at Peril, she noticed steam rising from Peril's eyes, and realized that she was crying.

Peril, Peril, Peril. It was always Peril. Tears rose to Sunny's eyes, ignoring the rest of the cheering around her as the SandWing kingdom celebrated, ignoring the corpse she'd left in the sand. It was easy to put it out of her mind when she was looking into those beautiful blue eyes. A lump rose in her throat, ready to cry along with the SkyWing, her joy singing in the smile that slowly spread over her face.

She may have never become Peril's world - Peril had her own world now, one she'd built for herself, one that proved her loyalty and her intent and how brave and kind and self-aware she'd become, one that she was still trying to build, one that Sunny was glad she had. She never had to go back to that awful place Scarlet had built for her. She had grown past it, and Sunny would never regret helping Peril out of that place, that state where she felt she couldn't be independent.

Yes, she may have never become Peril's world. But Peril sure had become hers.
