Omg guys, this fanfiction is so awesome! Totally one of my favourites I have been hooked up on it for the last few days <3
A bit into the story, it is really well written without noticeable grammar mistakes. The storyline is nicely built up, sometimes a bit confusing and it seems like some parts don't make much sense, but in the end everything makes sense as all the chapters are like puzzle pieces that need to be put together to understand them. The main characters are Bakura, Marik (Malik in the ff), Ryou and Melvin (Mariku in the ff) and it's basically an AU without the Millennium items and duel monsters. Kura and Ryou are twins while Marik and Melvin are brothers. I love how it's not like most of the other thiefshipping/deathshipping fanfictions, they are not out of character and not everything is about the fluff. (Oh yeah, it's a thiefshipping and deathshipping fanfic, so if you dislike those pairings, then I don't advise this to you.) It's also amazing how it's based on the pairings, but you don't get the feeling that it's just about them. I mean it's not only about them doing lovey-dovey things. Of course, it has got the 'aww' moments, but it's mostly about the deep stuff under the surface. I love how the writer made them backstories which is not the same as in YGO!, but I could actually believe them to be true. It is also very good that mostly all of them has some sort of mental disorder, not like having them are such good thing or something to be happy about, but it makes them more in character and they actually have a good reason. Let's take Melvin and Ryou as examples. As in the original series, it would be surprising if Melvin hadn't got some sort of problem with his sanity. And as for the fanfic's storyline, Ryou's disorder comes from his childhood trauma (read the story to understand it) and Melvin got it from his genetics as a thing that went through his family. The story's longness may make a lot of people turn down as it's 35 chapters long, but it's totally worth it and it's not a waste of time.
