Self-explanatory. Breaking up is hard to do when you love each other.He doesn't understand that I'm doing this for his benefit so he'll find someone who can commit right now. He thinks I don't love him and he's having a hard time without "us".
Me too, but it's for the best. I firmly believe that he deserves better.

Sorry if this sounds really mean (I swear I'm not trying to be), but as I sit here and think about his side of this, I think that seems really selfish on your part.
What if he didn't WANT better, what if he thought you were prefect and you were the only one he wanted? I'm surprised he isn't really pissed...
If you really love someone, don't set them free, but hold them gently like you would a butterfly (hold too tight and you'll crush it, but hold too loose and it will fly away forever)

He did, but I 1) wasn't happy in our relationship despite our love, 2) broke his heart several times via breaking up, 3) knew for a fact other girls would treat him better, and 4) couldn't stand seeing him so devastated in our relationship.
I would've definitely fixed my mistakes but I can't take back the harm I caused or get back the trust we had. We're both better off now. He's at a much better point in his life and I found someone with whom I am absolutely ecstatic. It all worked out for the better.
Thank you for your concern, it really made me think.
