Description
We lose Sight when our idea of reality is too tightly wound to notions based upon our perception.This is a second submission of this image. If someone can tell me how to add a link to an image in this description, I will add a link to the original pic, but until then it is called The Dancing Mushroom and it is in my gallery.
A fellow photographer told me to take out the ears, convert to B&W....I am really interested in which is a better image...I can't tell...the ears are the only thing that makes it distinguishable as a neck. I think I like the original color better, maybe just less saturated....

it's funny how you don't notice that the ears are gone until you see the original one. i guess i just dismissed them as not being in the light.

well, i must admit, after a quick glimpse at the thumbnail, and the thumbnail with the pepper in the feet, i thought it was something else completely. the veins helped with that imagery...
then i realized it was a neck, but noticed afterward that the outline of bottom of your chin and your neck remind me of those little illustrations of flatworms we studied in like seventh grade science or something...
a mushroom works, too.

The fact that the ears are missing makes it more abstract wich is a very good call.
the veins and musscles give it a very interresting texture.

yes... the phalic feel is more present here
darkened pic and monochrome, it makes it more abstract, so it's easier to interpret it
nevertheless, there's indeed like something missing... the colors of the first one had some power...
i'd say this one is more obvious and effective, but maybe less powerful

OK... wow. i really really like this. I always love when people can find unconventional ways to express emotion. To my this communicates deep frustration, throwing one's head back in utter disbelief. Fantastic.

here's my take on it. i went to check out the original [link] , and to me, they are two completely different photographs.
the original is clearly identifiable as the neck and chin of a person who's got her head tilted back. its allure lies simply in the beauty of the lines of your neck, jaw, and collar bones, as well as in the lighting.
this version, however, looks kind of like a penis (hence the title, i assume) - especially when viewed just as a thumbnail. i thought that was interesting and sort of ironically humorous, because it is actually a photograph of a woman's neck, but is interpretable as a phallus, and that has interesting subtexts to me.
so there's my 2Β’
i don't think you should take out one in favor of the other, since they really stand well apart from each other, and have a lot of worth as seperate images.

I haven't seen the other version of this image, but I like this one a lot. I'll take a look at the other one in just a little while.
You can still see it's a neck in this picture, though. Don't worry.
