Description
Emprisioned by circumstance,Tortured by desire,
She waits with impatience for the end,
for the beginning.
Where are you? she silently screams.
It does not matter, for you are here...
In her soul, her eyes, and her tomorrow.
I am not really into the self-portraiture thing, but i am sick and am to antsy to concentrate on much, but mawkish emotions. Cleansing the soul through art is liberating. So here I am, unvieled.

beautiful shot, but i dont know if you look tortured or anguished :/ the lighting and the colours suggest a little to much glamour... unless your point is that even women of glamour are imprissioned by their circumstances and long to break free of the role they have been slotted into...

I like the tight crop. The blue fabric and the red of your lipstick are in such a perfect contrast. Great sharp tones. And your eyes are gorgeous and really stand out. Great expression as well.

It's a gorgeous picture! It's very reminicant of the portrait taken of the girl in kuwait years ago by a photographer from magnum who's name has slipped my mind. or maybe it was another violence stricken area, but she had dark olive skin with bright green eyes, voted best portrait ever taken by american cinematographer and magnum photography.
That says something about yours then doesn't it

I wonder if you happen to be talking about the same photograph that popped into my mind...one from National Geographic, of a girl with a red shawl and green eyes. She was in a camp in Pakistan, I believe...a refugee.
The girl in that photo looked wary, though. I get more of a Mary feel from this...Lorraine looks so serene and understanding.

yea it probably is the same one, that photographer was accepted into Magnum.
And I don't think serene is the right word, the girl with the shawl was traumatised but lorraine looks wary of what is to happen, rather than what has.

Love the depth of her eyes and the soft, but troubled expression on her face. Not quite sad...almost as if she's unsure how she feels at this moment. Like those moments when you hear news that you feel is unbelievable...but your body hasn't yet reacted in the way your mind has. That's what I feel you've captured in her...the brink of devestation.

Beautiful, and there's something about the way that the mouth is not quite closed that gives it an element that I can't explain... but I like it.

I like the framing with the scarf, but i think the overall framing is bit tight, it looks like she's got no neck, it'd be better if you show bit of her neck or shoulder, plus the bottom left of the scarf seems to be out of place and kinda distorts the face. That said, the lighting is good, everything is well illuminated.
