China's dress, to me, really captures the sense of timeless beauty and elegance that she has possessed all through the books- it's very, very lovely 
I especially love the delicate designs at the hem and the heel of her shoe juuuust visible, because of the way she's standing, and also I like the line her leg creates in the folds of the dress. Very nice
I thought the only thing wrong with this scene in the book was that Skulduggery didn't dance with Valkyrie!

I can't claim credit for the dress design (aside from shortening the back of the sleeves) it's based off of an Elie Saab wedding gown! named erato [link] which I fell in love with.
(your comments also remind me that me and my freinds had a very in depth discussion about just exactly how China's bum should look. We settled on curvy but not a bubble butt, important choices)
(the shoe is hidden because wow I hate drawing shoes, always have, though hey I'm getting better)
Val did get a serande from Skulduggery though, which kind of beats a dance.
