Onto the subject: yes, the naked/bondage chick DDs are kinda overdone, but that's not the artist's fault. I absolutely love the skin shading and the leather effects. Good art.

All of the artwork in your gallery shows extreme talent, and I have to say that you have some pieces in your gallery more deserving in this one. This one is still nice though... I find it funny that the only hard bondage picture in your entire gallery is the one chosen.

But I am really getting sick and tired of people saying that this is not artistic. This deviant is obviously very good at traditional artwork and this is a fine example of fetish/erotic artwork at it's best! The expression on the woman's face, her curves, the detail in the leather choker around her neck.. everything is beautiful. I love the highlights and shading in the piece as well. Especially on her body.
Whoever says that this should not be a DD has some serious issues. This does not objectify women in a bad way. Come on people. Just be happy for someone when they get a DD. Don't play the "women" card. This is art. And I am sick of hearing otherwise.
Thomasinho took a lot of time on this piece. And I for one, can actually appreciate that fact!

I'm really sorry but I find this offensive and degrading. You clearly have great skills as an artist but the content i really feel shouldn't be thrust onto the front page as a DD.

Sadly, I agree. I'm all for fetish - if you're into it, go for it - but there's something about this being chosen for a DD that disgusts me. I know that bondage is mutual, and that the submissive is truly the one in power, but this truly pushes the whole "objectification of women in Daily Deviations" over the top. I'm sorry, while the artist is obviously skilled, there is nothing artstic about the piece.

Hey thanks a lot for the support, I did wonder how much flaming I would get. To be honest, I don't mind because I have passed up too many DD's which I felt really disgusted by and this one just pushed it for me.
I know a lot is personal preference, and I don't object wholly to some pieces being submitted here but I DO object to them being selected as DDs which results them being in on show for everyone - children included. If other people like it and it isnt too violent / sexist / perverted, then fine - but I do not want to see it and I really feel others shouldn't have to be subjected to it.

Not only that I had enought that these kind of pics show up from time to time as a DD but compareing THIS to the rest of your works I must say this is not that good.
Sorry but I don't see how can her nose stand like that. Even if you wanted to open the nosestrilss to show she breath in a lot maybe becaue she is excited, I still has the image of a badly drawn nose. Her eyes are good and the rest of the face is okay except that she seems to have more eyelashes on her right eye. >>; and her left eyebrow is also pulled weird.
you choose a nice color for the skin and the hair is pretty too, It is obvious you worked a LOT on those parts.
I seriously fail to see why this got a DD. not just because the breast and the whole bondage thing, but if someones opens your gallery can find much better art then this. Like 'Michelle' or 'Waiting' which is actually has some humour to it and not just extreemity and way exposed brests. Seriously people Try it out. Post the same art twice and on one of em cover the brests.
You can bet that the exposed one will get the DD even if its not as good as many of your other works.
You are a good artist ~thomasinho. Its just that with this DD, People will look at your gallery who look for more bongade and they will not find any or scare away the people who would actually like your art.

I was very surprised when i saw it."Bound" is one of my older works and i`m not really satisfied with the result.But now it`s a DD and i must live with this fact...

I selected this image because another deviant thought this particular one out of the gallery was outstanding enough to take the time and suggest it to me. I agree, there were others that I would have selected before this image, but I wanted to honour the suggestion of another devant on this site. I feel like I am a voice for other artists opinions here. I have the ability to feature artworks and I have done that on behalf of someone else. This is a nice piece of art. It stands on it's own as a strong work that has had time and thought put into it. I stand by my selection.

i think it's a slightly sad statement for someone to say that it's rare for them to pick traditional art because it was art before so many of the other forms. be that as it may...
this is a fine rendition no matter how much people may kneejerk over the subject. it's how it's executed. i for one think the harness is done extremely well more than the rest. well done, and congratulations on receiving a DD for this!

I made that statement because i administrate the fetish PHOTOGRAPHY gallery, and generally we only select from our own galleries. I've selected this because of the content. If I were to select traditional art every day, then the traditional art director would get backlash because of how many trad pieces were being selected. It seems to get very political around here, as you've pointed out yourself..

Well i'm red-faced to admit that i didn't pay attention to who had made the comment re trad art. i just saw the write-up and said how i felt cause that's how i took it, so i appreciate you giving me insight on how it works. You'd think i'd know more about it since i've been on the dA scene for years, but i don't know or try not to bother anyone who's 'in the know' here.
Looking at it in the light you've provided, i still say it's a little sad, cause with you and your eye and obvious knowledge on fetish (however the form it's portrayed in), i think you should still have a say when it's something special (and not be ham-stringed by those politics you mentioned). That's why the artist of the piece in question is fortunate to've received a nod from you, dear. That's a double DD in my book.

Officially, we can select from any gallery we like, we just tend to stick to our own because a) we know it well and b) keeping it fair across the board and not favouriting any genre so to speak. You'd be surprised how many members like to rant about so many aspects of the DD system, its quite ridiculous really.
