Description Baron Tycho would love hunting with hounds! Dunno if he owns a forest for hunting or is invited by any of his contacts/friends to participate to this activity. And as their new maid is able to change forme from feral to monster, he can use them as much as a hound than a mount. So ready to hunt some humans!Β @wanderingtycho ! What do you think?Β

I do really love your art, though, you have such a magnificent control over your lineweight and the character designs are so animated and neat and I love seeing your work, even if it's infrequent.

To be honest, it took me a long time to stop and think about what art meant to me.
As much as I want art to be my profession, I primarily see art as a source of personal expression, of joy. It doesn't have to be something that anyone else likes so long as I enjoyed making it, even if it doesn't turn out the way I wanted it to. I know I've been taking my own art far too seriously, making it incredibly difficult for me to even draw without anxiety crippling me.

Thanks to ArtFight2018 and the fandom surrounding Captain Underpants, I've been getting to a point where I feel like I can really enjoy art again, and enjoy other's art simply because I like it rather than trying to find reasoning for it. It's kind of... Freeing, really.

I think the same, art is more a source of personal expression that's why I'm struggling deciding on a job related to art Β°0Β° My mom keep pushing me to be graphic designor but... you are so tied in this kind of job I hate it >.> It's hard to express yourself in such thing and I have a hard time doing my job when I don't appreciate what I'm doing. It happens already on some commission :/ Heh I wish I could just do art and earn enough money from it to live XD but that seems impossible. I should also stop to try to make everything perfect and throw myself into any kind of project... I have many project in my mind that I'd like to do but I'm waiting.... what? I don't know but I'm waiting XD

Aaah I wish I had participated to ArtFight2018 ;u; It sound funny.Β

Ahh, I totally get where you're coming from.
Honestly, it's something of a dream of mine to draw illustrations for either comics or children's books, I love to tell stories and draw but I have a hard time putting the two together. I'm trying to teach myself to compose comics so I can try drawing up some comics for my little cousins as presents in case I can't make their birthdays this year.
Freelance artwork is hard, but with enough practice and business savvy, I've seen it done really well. You have such amazing artwork, I could see you making a KILLING as a freelance illustrator.

And ArtFight is so so much fun, I really enjoyed participating and I'm looking forward to joining again next year.

to be honest, comic is more free than what people think everybody think there is very strict rules while in fact not at all! The thing you have to remember is that comic is narrative pictures ^^ It can have dialogue, mostly only dialogue or not, figurative or abstract, make sense or not, be a full story or just a conversation, panel can be all well defined or you can mix everything into one page, drawing can be simple or very detailed!!! I used to tell myself that I know nothing about comic while in fact i just need to throw myself into it There is no one good way to do it ^^ But that doesn't prevent us from wanting to learn more and we should That's what I'm doing by continuing my studies ^^
As for freelance it's very very hard :/ I might get a job and work as freelance on the side :/ try to get more involved with some friend artists. I can't live from my commissions so i don't even want to imagine as a freelance artist haha!

Aaaah it's in so long ;^; makes me sad ! I wanted to see my oc drew by others for once ;u;

My main problem in making a comic is that A) I am GARBAGE at most backgrounds, and B) I'm really bad about actually completing stories. 8\
And then of course how hard it is to stay motivated when retail work drains me so badly I feel dead and gross a lot of the time when I want to draw and do what I love. :C

And do join the ArtFight for next year, it's really fun!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lost-Opium In reply to 0ArmoredSoul0 [2018-07-30 12:17:02 +0000 UTC]

ahahah same XD but we must then practice background more often And about completing stories...it ask some organisation Β°0Β° Maybe try to read The Anatomy of a Story, by John Truby I started and it gives some good keys ^^ no need to absolutly follow what say but it's always good to take some tips ^^ Also I think stories don't need to have obviously an end like all other stories. It can be just a view of some scene or a tiny moment...Β  I like to just illustrate some dialogue or just scenery from a specific moment in the life of my characters can make tiny chapter
And heh I feel you *pat pat* must find some time to work on what we love but sometimes it's hard :/

I will try it will depend of what i'm doing at the time!

I've heard of that book, I think it's on my list of stuff to buy along with the Animator's Survival Guide.
I have a long history of having a hard time finishing stories, I tend to get stuck one way or another and get frustrated to the point where I make myself leave it be, and then I get distracted and start on other things. It's something I'm getting better at, but it's still a struggle.

I bought the kindle version of it Β°0Β° the paper version is so expensive 0^0
Oh deer lord XD Most of writter have this problem! That's why before writting you must define a start on an end and also not try to go too far. A good story isn't necessarly short with every little thing explainined. Start with tiny stories and end with biggers

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0ArmoredSoul0 In reply to Lost-Opium [2018-07-31 21:20:10 +0000 UTC]

I don't have a kindle, but I'll look into getting a digital version anyway, the physical version would be preferable but holy CRAP, EXPENSIVE.

I tend to get ideas for singular scenes or concepts, and I jot down what the idea is and try to build up on it. Sometimes it builds up in a linear fashion and I can finish going from point A to point B, but most of the time it turns into a big old spidery network of crazy and I struggle to prune it all down to ONE story. 8\

the kindle app on computer and phone is free if you have an amazon account >.> but i can get that not everybody have it. I think you might find it somewhare else anyway And yeah you saw that!!! damn!

XD have you ever done some challenge in time like Game jam or stuff like that? I think it has a lot to teach! Game Jam, you have 48h to make a game. So you have deas and stuff you want it to be great. But definily you don't have the time to make everything you want so you have to see what are the priority and keep following it. It's the same about a story! sometimes there is cool scene we want but we must keep it for some other time ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

0ArmoredSoul0 In reply to Lost-Opium [2018-08-01 18:52:01 +0000 UTC]

I think I might have the kindle app on my tablet, I can't recall right now, but I know I've used it in the past.

As for time limit stuff, no, I haven't really done much of that, mostly due to having most of my time caught up in the drudgery of retail. It's really hard to plan things out when your schedule is all over the place and the only consistency is the location you end up in. It's better now that I'm back on part time rather than full time, full time hours of retail was quite literally making me sick from the stress.

Admittedly, now I'm broke as hell trying to make ends meet, but it's either money or health at this point.

If you can avoid it, NEVER WORK RETAIL.
Or work it as little as possible.

Retail work shows the truth depth of human depravity and how rude, inconsiderate, and straight up MEAN people can be. I'm not going to go into it, but for comparison, I worked as a housekeeper at Macy's for three months before I got my current job at Home Depot, and if I had the opportunity and new it would pay my rent, I would gladly go back to a job where I routinely had to clean up human waste and debris and wake up to work at 4 in the morning than continue working in a position where I have to deal with people. True, part of that is my social anxiety and introvert nature, but I didn't have social anxiety when I started working retail, and four years later, I most certainly do.

It sucks. A lot.

I had lot of friends working retail and all of them say it sucks Β°0Β° I'd like to avoid that cause i'm socialy awkward and don't like to interact much with people, being museaum guard was just enough, but if i have no other solution, I guess I'll have to >.> I don't know where i'll end up after studies >.> Kind of makes me anxious by the way.

0ArmoredSoul0 In reply to Lost-Opium [2018-08-02 22:50:57 +0000 UTC]

If nothing else, look at working inventory or freight positions instead of working on the floor as an associate or cashier. The work is more labor intensive, but there's rarely if ever any uniform requirements, it's usually late night to graveyard shift so there's literally no one but your co-workers to have to bother with, and it also tends to pay a bit better off the bat than floor work cause of the more labor intensive nature of the job.
I would have taken a freight position after leaving cashiering if I wasn't offered a raise for transferring to the paint desk, and I honestly still consider swapping over from time to time.

lol political cartoons for queer magazine to mock cishetwhitmen. If I could push myself to work more on the magazine i'm doing with a bunch of artists mayeb i could look at that XD

And if she's not letting you sleep past noon, maybe go ahead and be up for a couple hours then take a nap on a couch somewhere, then technically you're not sleeping PAST noon, you've been awake so you're sleeping AFTER noon has happened. Hooray for semantics. XD

I've done that too, I take too short of a lunch to nap at work, but I used to split my lunch hours at college to eat food and then have a little nap and then be ready for the next classes.
In class, I've only ever fallen asleep once, and that was due to cramming like crazy and then having an early morning history lecture.

Hahaa, I had the same thing.
Was usually 5-10 minutes late to class, but was always one of the first three present so the teachers pretty much didn't give an eff until you were like 20 minutes late.
Sometimes I miss taking the bus, the system around here is really well structured and I always got a long really well with the drivers, they're really nice people and didn't mind an anxious dork hanging out and chattering at them about the latest stuff they read in the comics.

that sounds nice I'm too anxious + agoraphobic for that kind of stuff. I tend to try to sit in a corner and try to look outside while listeningto music. Though there is one thing I liked is to be in the bus very early and there is what... 3 people in it? that is quite nice!

Names are HARD.
I have to associate people with things I remember more easily, like funny quotes or colors or activities I enjoy. Like, there's this contractor who comes into my work and he's a really cool dude, but I could never remember his name until he came in with one of his business tees on and I made a joke remark how the name reminded me of the robot from Futurama, and he joked back and we ended up laughing over bad quote from Bender while I rung him out. I'm no longer a cashier, so I don't see him as often, but I remember him a lot more clearly and enjoy saying hi when I do get to see him.
