This is cool. Did you do it in flash? My only crit is that the explosion is a bit quick isn't it. It could do with a few more frames.

hehe great, i haven't seen this before, and it's a great idea to do in pixelart.
a couple of things you could improve:
- the animation is really fast, so slowing it down gives opportunity to fully appreciate everything
- the transition from village to city is quite short
- perhaps some more ruins after the bomb
other then that a very nice deviation, good job

I find this concept and piece itself quite interesting. You have some wonderful detail put into the destruction and nature frames, however only complaint is that the animation is far too fast once it begins with the building of civilisation. I'm sure you've put some wonderful detail into the town and city frames, but because of how fast it goes by, it's probably wasted on most people. And while I'm the kind of person to take someone's animation and open it in an animation program to get a better look, most people won't, so it's kind of lost on them.

Hehe thanks, yes I wanted it to speed up in the end. Well there is little detail on the town, just 16 colors, so I think it wouldnt look better making it slower.
