One of the many things that baffle me these days is how little people can tolerate other people. We're all the same race- homo sapien, human. Would you expect everyone to be like you? If they aren't, why would you insist on hating or belittling or ostrocizing them?
How stupid is it to prevent people from getting married? That gets me every time. You don't agree with somebody so you keep them from marrying their loved one? Come on you idiots. They don't call it a free country for nothing. Let's live up to the name, shall we?

I'll be happy to debate with you. I don't expect to 'convert' everyone to my way of thinking, and if you post just to prove that you won't change your opinion I don't care. It's not what your opinion is but if you want to limit other people's freedom because of it.

Damn, my family has gone far enough to abuse and harassment against me. And talk bad about anyone who is gay. Apparently having a girlfriend means I'm "crazy and need to go back to the mental hospital". I'm almost 19, and still treated like a little kid. :/
I normally support all religions, but when they feel they must shove what they believe down other people's throats, I strongly feel that is wrong.
Since when is it ok to bully someone and mistreat them because you disagree with them?
People say the Bible says it's wrong, so you must shun them or whatever.
Do they even realize the Bible was used to say black people were evil too? The Bible has also been used to lie, cheat, steal, hell even murder millions of people.
Yet no one notices that. And the ones that do, keep it on the down low. Before any religious extremists go around judging, they need to fix their "sins" first.

I agree with you, I personally think that the bible is just to get people who had no prior knowledge of life (or anything for that mannor) to have something to think about, but it does have many many flaws. I scraed my best friend when I first met her because her preacher told their church that athiests worshipped Satan.

Even if you are Christian and feel homosexuality is a sin, since when is it okay to judge sinners? Aren't we all sinners? It isn't our job as humans to judge people in any way, especially if it involves prejudice and ostracizing. Leave it up to God if that's your belief.

I wasn't saying you specifically were judging, it's good you don't judge. If only everyone could refrain from judging then maybe it wouldn't be an issue.
It's still not up to you to tell people how to live their lives, even in the name of God. You can know having sex outside of marriage is a sin, but you can't stop people from doing it. Same goes with homosexuality. If you see this as a sin the most you should do is hope or pray that these sinners will repent, which is what it takes in Christianity to get into heaven, right? That's the most you as a person have a right to do when it comes to interfering with the lives of others.

Since when was marriage a right? I was under the impression that marriage was dependent on your particular religion. Age, number and gender of spouses has been based on the religion. If my religion doesn't believe in gay marriage then why should my church be forced by the government to allow them to marry?
Tolerance does not equal acceptance. I will tolerate those that choose to be gay and hate the sin and not the sinner but that doesn't mean it gives you the right to steam role my beliefs.

You don't seem to realize what it was I said in my last post. I said that the laws of our church say that being gay is a sin and should be repented for. Therefore our church has no obligation to marry them because it doesn't follow the religion.
If a gay person wants to get married then they should find a religion that supports it in order to do so instead of forcing one to adhere to their opinions.

I don't think your religion has any right to restrict those people from being married, or what religion they are a member of, now that you bring it up.

I'm not gay. Have plenty of gay friends, though. And, while I don't agree with gay marriage, I understand that IT IS MY OPPINION ALONE AND THAT I HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE WHAT THEY CAN AND CANNOT DO BASED ON MY RELIGION.
