Description Made from my image [link]

I was returning from a cheering station of a 3-day breast cancer walk when I saw this on the back of a green VW and I had to get a shot.

Sorry for the not-transparentness, my Jasc Animation Shop isn't obeying my every command anymore. D=
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, I support gay rights.

One of the many things that baffle me these days is how little people can tolerate other people. We're all the same race- homo sapien, human. Would you expect everyone to be like you? If they aren't, why would you insist on hating or belittling or ostrocizing them?

How stupid is it to prevent people from getting married? That gets me every time. You don't agree with somebody so you keep them from marrying their loved one? Come on you idiots. They don't call it a free country for nothing. Let's live up to the name, shall we?

My full argument is here- [link]
I'll be happy to debate with you. I don't expect to 'convert' everyone to my way of thinking, and if you post just to prove that you won't change your opinion I don't care. It's not what your opinion is but if you want to limit other people's freedom because of it.
Just be sure you're ready for a reply when you post on either of my deviations.

If you want to comment, either picture is fine. Please spread this around if you can, some people need the message.

Thank You!

I am bisexual girl myself, and my best friend is a lesbian. We go to a school full of homophobes who tell us on a daily basis that we're going to hell. This means a lot to me.

well telling ppl to go to hell and cursing them is a sin too so... you can tell them to show you the way XD ... that will shut them up

>( There's homophobic and then there's just plain rude! Some people are jerks no matter what they beleive.
I'm glad it means something to you, on a personal level. That makes me feel like I got the message right. Thank you very much!

And I really like your signature, there's something really nice and peacefull about it.

Ugh I totally agree, homophobia is so stupid. If it were an actual uncommon stupid fear like fear of air, then I'd understand a little more But... *sigh*

What baffles me is that Canada had it legalized for about two weeks and then said "WOAH NOEZ... Who did this??" and took it back. You can have a ceremony.. but you aren't 'legally' married.
And the fact that if the woman I love and I spend our lives together, have kids, ect. I can't get the same benefits for my family, so if I die they're screwed and in debt? bloody hell ._.

lostforeveragain In reply to Zetra [2008-04-16 22:58:23 +0000 UTC]

Lol'd at the "Who did this??". All of a sudden people don't like tolerance, so make it look like a mistake...

That's the point my mom always brings up. She gets infuriated because she knows if she was gay she'd do anything for us, my sister and I, and she wouldn't know what she'd do if she couldn't get benifits to keep us healthy and be able to get... something like extra taz breaks, or be able to leave us money if she died...
And I totally agree, even if people don't like it that two people of the same gender love each other, would you take away not only the good things for them but the things for their whole familly? Why are people so eager to destroy or prevent bonds like that?
I dunno.

I guess they're just questions we'll never get answered, But hopefully one day despite it being so taboo in everyone's eyes laws will change. It's so inhumane to deny something like that.

This is very true .. stupidity just is infinite but when they all would think wisely about their actions and saw them from anotehr point of view I think zhey would understand

lostforeveragain In reply to AniMal-e [2008-04-14 13:35:35 +0000 UTC]

I think so too. So far it's like... the people who want to ban gay marriages, they're only thinking about what they beleive in, not what other people want or care about or have rights to.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AniMal-e In reply to lostforeveragain [2008-04-17 19:27:24 +0000 UTC]

hmm yeah and this whole process is very depressing because it takes soo long to change such self evident things. For example socrates or at least a greek philosoph said every human is free not bound by someone else and race doesnΒ΄t matter. But he was in favor of slaves because in his eyes they arenΒ΄t real humans anymore because they are destined to be like this or something -.-

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lostforeveragain In reply to AniMal-e [2008-04-17 22:32:53 +0000 UTC]

And the further you get into things like that, the further you get from logical reasoning, I'm afraid. =[ People don't even try to make sense when there are such horrible prejudices, and it's the same today as it was way back when.

Yeag its realy sad but once people are stuck in their reasonlesness (I donΒ΄t know whether such a word exists) it is hard to open their eyes to see what is wrong and even harder to make them see what is right... I was the same way when I was a kid I just had some prejeduces and thought thatΒ΄s bad because its a sin and didnΒ΄t even know what I did but now I know you have to change the point of view and look closer. Not only in terms of others and their character and actions but also into yourself . Ok enough philosophy today

I love this stamp! ^__^ I
I'll definitely use it! One more for the collection~ XD

Anyway, I agree with absolutely everything you said in your arguments! :3

I've actually been personally effected by this whole thing too. D: About a year ago, my dad showed his true nature- a.... well, a complete jerk, and my parents ended up getting a divorce. It was a really hard time for my mum, who was very affected by the way my dad treated all of us. >:
But then she fell in love with another woman, who even moved all the way to Australia just to be with my mum! And she's been so happy since. ^_^ I love her new partner to death, and she's even more of a parent to me then my dad was and ever will be~ <3
However, despite all this, Australia, like America, has this absurd notion that Gay Marriage is "wrong" and despite all of this, they can't get married. DX
I cannot see how this is "right" at all! >.<

It's good to see people who agree. ^__^

I'll put this in my journal right now~ <3

It makes me so sad to think that people would think to restrict something like that when there's problems like world hunger and genocide and oppresion... and they care who gets married to who? Excuse me? Dx

That's an adorable story, thank you so much for sharing! I'm happy for you and your mom and your mom's partner. β™₯
Maybe there will be somewhere someday that it'll be okay to openly love whoever you want.

Awesome, I agree, I am a pro gay religious catholic person. I think a lot of stuff in the bible is different people's opinions, plus if two people love each other, it seems right to me. Heck, the bible even says being a guy with long hair or a female with short hair is offensiveo_O, its a strange little book of doom.

Yess, I will be using this one I will!

I totally agree. The definition of "love" between humans names no gender, it simple says "between two people" or something like that. I also lurv your comment about this so called, "Free" country. If this place is so free, why is the government trying to keep people from living up to the name?

But, however it makes a good debate, and even if the US Government bans same-sex marriage. There are 6 countries that fully allow it. I'd much rather live elsewhere other than in a country where people are going to discriminate me everywhere I turn!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lostforeveragain In reply to Calypso-Ash [2007-03-10 02:01:50 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much. ^-^
And I agree so much with theidea of just leaving for some place that would be so much better, but I find it really hard to leave something I've been with so long. If you ever do get out of here, tell me how it is wherever you go. The US in general seems to judgemental; I mean, we all do it, but the intolerance blows my mind.
But I hope it never comes down to actually banning same-sex marriage. Or anything as stupid. =/

Your welcome!

I've always wanted to move; to either Europe or Asia. Because, I've never really fallen in love with this country. I mean, Bush for example. The guy has no clue how to run a country efficiently, he thinks he knows! But he doesn't. And I agree completly; all our government is really; is judgmental people who only care about what they get, and what laws they see fit. Yeah, we all judge eachother once in a while, but to an extent. Banning something like same-sex marriage, and saying to some happy m/m or f/f couple, "No, you cannot get married and spend life together because you people are different and what you're doing is against all rules of the universe and if you keep it up the world will explode.", thats just pure cruelty and adult-rated stupidity.

So stupid it pisses me off. I didn't mean to rant, really. LOL

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

lostforeveragain In reply to Calypso-Ash [2007-03-12 01:51:05 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry, I love rants. Especially when I agree with them.
It's a tough country to love, and I am debating whether I want to spend my future and my family's future here, but I still have hope that one day it'll be a bit better than now.
I really hate our government system, yes. It seems efficent compared to most other countries but it can't seem to function for the people like it should. And I just can't see why people can't get married if they want to. Gender shouldn't have anything to do with it.
Thanks for sharing my opinion, it seems so many people do, but there is still such problems to work out... =/

Yeah, I can tolerate to live here in Austin until I get on my own. Then if I can afford to move; I defiantly will. But I've got a long way to go before that happens It's really a nice place to live here; Austin's a "little-big" city, only a few thousand or so people live here, I haven't yet to meet someone who doesn't live to ruin other peoples lives; or get into everyones business.

Gender shouldn't have anything to do with it.

YES. I lurve that
