...I'm sure they're claws tho I could be very wrong! Tend to think of hands as having opposable thumbs.
Either way, they're cute & so teeeny! lol

Thankyou & lol guess we'd probably pull a similar face if a photographer turned up while we were eating!

Lol

Nah, it's a genuine wild rat...

It looked quite young which may partly explain it's boldness

Really? Where do you live, that wild rats climb the birdfeeders? It really looks like a fancy rat, though. I'm surprised. Then again, they are clean creatures.
It may be young - certainly not a kitten (I kid you not, that's the name), but not elderly and decrepit. Eh.
Anyway, it's cute. Oh, and since I failed to say so before, good shot! It's really clear for being taken through a window!

Kitten? really?

North of England - the house backs onto a bit of farmland/countryside

...and needless to say (photos aside) it's not the best thing in the world to have rats realising there's food to be had! That aside, it really does look in almost perfect health and is cute as anything lol

In some ways it's not that surprising to find it there tho given that so far in the back garden there has been: general small birds (sparrows, tits, robins etc), woodpidgeon, woodpecker, heron, ducks, newts, toads, squirrels, various mice & voles, dragonflies and other insects/bugs lol and there are horses in the field behind as well...

Yeah, just checked. English countryside. Nice. Sounds like you live in a great place, as far as wildlife is concerned. ^_^
Very true, rats can get into absolutely anything! Be careful.
