Description Inspired by the infamous "White tree of Gondor" from LOTR .

The White Tree of Gondor stood as a symbol of Gondor in the Court of the Fountain in Minas Tirith. In spring it bore numerous white flowers, but few of these ever fructified. The fruit was never described, nor is it considered to be edible. The leaves were laurel-like, dark green above and bright silver beneath. The wood when burned gives off a dense, choking, volumnious smoke that forms a fog capable of burying an entire country in darkness for several days - LOTR wiki.

Part of the legend and lores series.

HI! This reminds me of the fact that trees have roots the same size as their visible part. MAybe it is because of the of the inversion of colours. But it also reminds me, and you may call me crazy without my taking any offense, of life itself. Because it looks like veins and vases. Or maybe because of the fact that life might be conceived as infinite subdivisions, which would be represented by the white branches and twigs. Infinite possibilities of time and space that might have something in common ( the thicker branch the others derive from) but they then take their own path. I might be seeing too much in your picture, or maybe too little, it depends on how you want to analayze it. Anyways it goes to favourites!

Lovely use of reverse negative infer-spectrum to create a tree from LotD I likje thqat and in its own way not to far off in look either. I think you dud nice work to capture this effect and a tree of legend.

Aquilla-Whingate In reply to lostknightkg [2012-02-20 11:02:48 +0000 UTC]

Well the closest is usually white birch and even that is still not pure white, so yes a negative of a silhouette was necessary to create this pic.

Yes silber birches, I saw a whole forest today, I wanted to get down badly and shoot but cant stop on the motorway oh well next time

What their is no shoulder you could have temporarily parked on, or an exit you could have gotten off to enter the forest preserve, oh well I guess next time yes.

hehe not on this motorway it was between two towns, so it was kinda oneway, There's tonnes of silver birches in the city but the background isnt nice with concrete I'll keep searching though
