I did this drawing back in December. Every year Penciljack.com has an official Christmas Art Swap in which members can participate by signing up to draw names with other artists on the boards. Once two artists are paired up they send each other three character choices. Each artists then chooses one of the three characters to draw and send out to the person they're paired up with. I was paired up with PJer, "D.C.", and one of his requests was for Deadman, so that's what I did for him.

I pencilled Deadman and inked him with a Pitt Brushpen. I decided to not ink the giant skull in the background, instead opting to do some pencil smudging on it. This ink vs pencil contrast of techniques allows Deadman to remain the prime focus of the drawing and creates an extra feeling of depth.
