i seem to have a bit of a thing about drawing merlin and arthur in dappled sunlight. idk?

so, a few months ago this photo appeared on my tumblr dashboard (with no source - if you know where it's from, please tell me!), and apparently i really can't resist such a lovely thing because sketchy fanart happened . i started colouring it with gorgeous reds and golds because it was nearly winter and i wanted to revel in autumn for a bit longer, but then i got bored (mainly because merlin's pose was far too passive for my liking in the first sketch) and ended up leaving it to languish in my WIP pile - until now! because i'm all excited about spring! and blossom trees! and sunlight! and so i dug this out and finished it off and had far too much fun painting flowers
