Description
I needed a new background, and I thought this could be cool. It didn't turn out anything like I had imagined it, but oh well.Eugenides from The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner

Overall
Vision
Originality
Technique
Impact
I really enjoyed this piece and thought that it deserved to be critiqued.
Vision: I gave it three four stars because I really liked the composition, lighting, colours and textures. I also found that action was well represented here and that different levels and textures had been used reasonably well.
Originality: Five stars because although the style used is similar to what I had previously seen in your gallery, the composition was truly unexpected. I also liked the way you managed to make your setting and subject particularly neutral. That way, the viewer focuses mostly on what's actually taking place in your picture rather than get lost while analyzing specific details.
Technique: As said earlier, I had already seen something similar. However, I still gave you three stars and a half because of the textures, colours and lighting used.
Impact: Four stars. One is immediately sucked "into" the scene and amazed at the boy's leap- and wonders "where's he going to land"?
Conclusion:
This is probably your most powerful piece. I truly enjoyed the colours, textures, composition, minimalist and sobre setting and theme. This is quality work and I look forward to similar pieces in the future! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Awesome! It's really dynamic! Is this from the beginning of the queen of attolia when he leaps off the building?

I don't think I had that specific one in mind when I made it (if I recall correctly, it was night in that scene) but I was certainly inspired by it.

Splat.
Actually, I was referencing a parkour picture for this. Those people are insane.
