I redid my mantis. Wanted to make it look a bit more dangerous⦠and the modelling was kinda crappy so I started that from scratch, sticking with the same basic design though.Old version - [link]
All done with LightWave and Photoshop as per usual.

So... first off you did basicly anything, then you went with radiocity and generaly white models... and now you're doing blue ones with dark backgrounds... what next?

The eyes are great on this version of the robo-mantis, the red glow is perfect.

Their both great renders, the old one looks sleepy and kinda cute (in whatever way a mantis bot can be o.O) and this one looks like it could do you some serious damage. Would be nice to see it in a "pray" position! Anyhow, great texture work, the lighting is near on perfect and the reflection below gives it depth and dimension. Great stuff
