i start from a point at the top of the head and bring some strands downwards to make the fringe and bangs : 3

yes thats right u've used the point of where the bow its to create the point of where the hair is flowing downwards
Depending on which way the fringe goes u can change it to either side (i ususally only draw the point from the left side or middle ) or u can draw it from the top middle to create a straight fridge : 3
If u do the pic again and create the point in the hair where the hair flows down and draw a few strands it will look more detailed :3

Ok! See I use Faber Castell, prisma colored pencils, and copic markers but I suck at coloring.

aww i see. I haven't used the others but like i said i didn't get on with fabar castell. I feel like u need to press on the page to much to get the colour or shade your after and then it ruins the page :/ Plus there pretty expensive
U don't suck at colouring D:
But it is harder to colour in pens then pencils and i've only just started learning to colour in pens D:
All i can suggest with using pencils is to start a shade lighter or go lighter on the pencil and then when theres shaded areas a bit darker. If u want to blend or even out some of the colours u can use the white pencil to blend them in : )
