The glitter tutorial I've been promising to make for quite a while!As I point out in the beginning, most of my technique is based on Greg Martin's excellent tutorial on making a starfield, which you can read here , just adapted slightly for creating glitter. I used this same method in Thirteen O'Clock .
I hope this is useful to somebody! If you have any questions, let me know in the comments.
Photoshop CS2 used here, but it works in versions as early as 5.5

I'm so glad I finally found this tutorial again. (Trying to recreate this awesome effect, based on a vague memory what I'd read...not so good.)
