First thing first this is a campaign map for my timeline The Eagle Down Under , which is basically extension to the already existing timeline of 1983: Doomsday . Only difference is that The Eagle Down Under is what is to happen in the future of 1983: Doomsday.

As such one of the main examples is that despite nuclear war happening in 1983 and pushing the world back a bit by technology, culture, and social issues. It only does so by a few decades. Simply put due to the Southern Hemisphere being unaffected by the nuclear war, places like South America and Oceania end up becoming more and more better and technology begins to get back to normal standards. Currently as of 2021 (the current year in my timeline now), technology has become someone similar to what it did during the late to end of the 2000's and early 2010's. Internet (originally called REMUNDO, but was changed to the "Net" once ANZC countries got access) is now currently at a status of LAN connection meaning faster connection speeds for much of the Southern Hemisphere.

But coming off technology, bad things had come regardless as a result.

Even though nuclear war happened in the 1980's, the War on Terror still ends up happening regardless, only difference being that the "World War on Terror" (as it is called in the timeline) begins in the late 2010's. Difference with this is that Brazil and Australia end up being victims of massive terrorist attacks by many different terrorist groups from all around the world. The Hamas Caliphate itself found itself created by Osama bin Laden during the Saudi Civil War (which begun in 2016 due to death of much of the Saudi royal family due to a car accident) and resulted in the terrorist organization taking a huge chunk of Saudi Arabia. But unlike the Osama bin Laden we know from our world, Doomsday's Osama is more crazier and insane as he literally destroyed Mecca by a dirty bomb and believes that he is the true prophet of Allah instead of Muhammad. And as such he creates a 9/11-like attack on both Brazil and Australia on June 23, 2018 (in which Gold Coast lost the Q1 Tower and Rio de Janeiro lost the famous Christ the Redeemer statue due to planes crashing into them). Later on the Hamas Caliphate in January of 2020 launch two nuclear weapons which destroy the Brazilian cities of Natal and Recife, resulting in worldwide ban on nuclear weapons and the result of SAC and ANZC putting mandatory conscription for men and women between 18-25 to serve in armed forces as a result.

Bear in mind Hamas Caliphate is not one infamous terrorist group, in North America there is an Christian equivalent of ISIS called the Christian Patriots who basically took over much of former Western Virginia. There also many other dozens of terrorist groups worldwide which have resulted in the name of "World War on Terror" being dubbed since nearly all continents (except Antarctica) have already seen attacks done by terrorists.

Simply put, Doomsday resulted in a much more worse outcome than anyone could imagine. Terrorism being now more worse and well known to the put the public is informed about "What terrorism is" by PSA announces on every channel in ANZC and SAC.
