I liked this kind of border at the time, but right now not so much. Too late to go back and change it that easily, but then I learned what not to do next time.
Edit: Cropped the image and made a new border, so a good chunk of shrubbery is lost but oh well. xD

Ahh I think it's a combination of things! One of my favourite little watercolour-looking tricks is simly applying the "fringe" effect to a layer in SAI. Then just play around with whatever fun brush shapes you like on that layer, it's great.

Haha, I recently used an opacity border like this, too and I'm not super pleased with that drawing. xD Doesn't hurt to try stuff out, though! The darker green still works pretty well here- so much green! <3
Anyway, I really love those twisty vines at the top! And I'm curious what has got Azalea shouting, lol. Super cute : )

Haha I just realized, I cleaned up the left most vines a lot more than the others. Must've forgotten somewhere along the way.

The border looks pretty good as it is right now, but I kinda see what you mean. I bet it would've looked better with a really dark green border, a black border, or a white border.

It clashes with the rougher lines in the actual drawing, I think that's my issue with it.
