Entry for the SOAP Pentathlon [link]
Discipline 5 Vaulting.
For Havillands stables Jet Star of Havillands (Sparky) , Jenny Stigley, Khi Black and Andrew Gribbins ( who is out of shot but holding the Lunge line)
This is an entirely new thing for Havillands, and the staff weren't quite sure how to approach vaulting. Jenny and Khi assumed it was like the rosinback routines performed by circus horses and trick riders. Andrew was happy to keep Sparky cantering round on the lunge line; the girls -who were by far the best at gymnastics- made up some sort of routine. Whether it was correct or not remains to be seen but they did their best. Despite wearing skin tight jodhpurs on a day to day basis, the girls drew the line at wearing the proper close fitting lycra vaulting outfits,(much to the dismay of several of the male staff!) instead they assembled something that looked like old school PE kits with shirts and pleated net-ball skirts. That and the hair ribbons made them look like giant ten year olds! Trust Havillands to look out of date! However, Sparky behaved himself as usual and no one parted company with him.
