Never too late. It's funny. Out of all the call backs in favorites and comments this is it. So I did try to objectively find out why, Even tho I myself think it's butt ugly, the transparencies I was playing with back then was good.

yep, compton is cool guy. you can also try devilspie to adjust some settings you can't do in openbox's rc.

is that a different compositing manager or additional?Β Remember I used devilspie to have a terminal on the desktop many moons ago

Devilspie is like Compiz's window rules plugin, but for any window manager.
Devilspie2 is the new successor; it uses Lua to script its rules and is totally awesome.
