Description
Evanescence: To dissipate, like vapor.I had this idea brewing in my head, and this is the closest I could come to how it appeared in my mind.
I'm quite pleased other than I want the smoke to be more noticeable. Any tips?

It looks beautiful.
Just a few things though. I find that the girl's edges are very defined. It might be more dramatic if you blended the edges a bit with the smoke, to lose the precision, and increase the fading effect.
Also, the back of her dress looks a bit out of place, I think because of the slight pinkish tint, while everything around her is dark and blue.
Overall I really like the mood, how she feels light and deep within her emotions. And I like the color of the sky, the blue makes me happy.

One critique: The gown that she is wearing appears to be on a flat surface in the original pic, but when combined with the cliff side, seems like it should be draping over the edge...
Awesome job with the outlines, they flow very naturally into one another, so you can't really tell it's a manip until you consider the scene

I see what you mean, yeah it does kind of appear to not be draping. But I guess maybe I was looking at it a different way, because the dress is supposed to be draped out behind her rather than over the edge. I'll see what I can do about touching it up though!

All the lines fit nicely together.. the clouds, the stone and her make for one fluid line through this manip. Only the moon is strange. It has the wrong colours it seems. It's blue with gray on top.. it doesn't fit together smoothly with the overall image in my opinion.

Great concept; the contrast looks good!
To make the smoke more obvious, you should make the woman less visible--considering the lighting, there should be more shadow on her (with a soft brush)--also, some transparency would be perfect to set off the vapor.

this is a realllly really effective piece with a good compositon. However the only element which confuses me a little is the woman. I am guessing you are supposed to make it look like she is dispating into vapor. What you have done really works well on her hands and that but where the white top ends at the bottom it look like just half of her body is hanging in air. Perhaps making it transparent and adding some filters to it might help the vapour effect become more clear. Aside from that this is a really nice piece.

I see exactly what you mean, and I have actually thought about that. I wasn't sure if I should try and make it look like her body is dissipating as well, because that would be tougher to do and make it look right. I am definitely going to give what you said a try, it's worth it. Thank you so much for your insight!

If it is possible just take that element from the picture and against a plain background on a new file, just experiment and have a fiddle around and see what you can find works.Unfortunately I can not offer any more advice than that as I can not do this sort of work to save my life.
