Prowl sighed. He was getting annoyed with the argument. “I’m just saying that humans should respect nature.”

“Humans do Prowlie, by not cutting down all the forests.” Bumblebee crossed his arms and dimmed his optics for a quick moment.

“But that’s not respecting it! Have you seen what the Earth looked like before humans cut down the forests?”

“Nope, and don’t care!” Bumblebee’s childish smile split his faceplate. “Why are we arguing? I mean, come on! We went away from the base to spend some time together and we’re arguing!”

Prowl sighed. “For once, you’re right.”

“Yeah. Wait—what do you mean ‘for once’?! I’m always right!”Bumblebee stopped himself from yelling anymore. He was just starting up another argument. “Okay, maybe I’m not always right, but—”

“Sh!” Prowl covered Bumblebee’s mouth. “You’re going scare all the nocturnal organics.”

Bumblebee growled from being stopped in the middle of his sentence, but he sighed and staid quiet, earning the release of his mouth from Prowl’s hand. Both mechs were silent as they listened. Prowl had his legs crossed and Bumblebee looked around the dark forest. Ever since that monster attack of the mutated space barnacles, Bumblebee hated spending time in the forest, or woods.

Bumblebee jumped when he heard something and his smile immediately vanished. “What was that?!”

“Calm down Bumblebee,” Prowl said calmly, placing his hands on the younger mechs shoulders. “It was nothing more than a nocturnal bird, an ‘owl’.”

“You said that the space barnacle was a bear and where did that take us?!” Bumblebee started to shiver with fear as he heard more organics.

Prowl sighed once more. “You know I don’t like it when you bring that up. Besides, you have to get over your fear of the woods.”

“Ha! I’m not scared of the woods!” Bumblebee jumped when he heard the owl again. “I’m just scared of what’s inside!”

“You’re such a sparkling.” Bumblebee was shaking more, and Prowl could see the intense fear in his bug’s optics. “If you’re so scared, then why don’t you go back to the base?”

“’Cause I wanna stay with you, even if it means getting the daylights scared out of me.” Hearing another organic, Bumblebee quickly turned his head around to look over his shoulders. “What was that?!”

Prowl only stared at Bumblebee for a moment as he thought. The beetle was easily scared when it came to the organics, that’s why Bumblebee never favoured meditating with Prowl in the forest and only at the base. Yet, Bumblebee was willing to stay with Prowl. The motorcyclist never fully understood Bumblebee’s actions, but they always pleased him one way or the other. Seeing Bumblebee jump again, he chuckled.

“What’s so funny?!” the yellow mech snapped. “I bet you enjoy me being scared!”

“Actually, it’s quite amusing,” Prowl replied, a soft smile on his faceplate.

Bumblebee glared at the ninja. “Not funny.” He nervously looked around. “I don’t see why you aren’t scared of this place…”

Prowl leaned over, grabbing Bumblebee’s wrist, and pulled the yellow beetle to him. The other let out a small yell from the sudden action, and his faceplate heated slightly when Prowl wrapped his arms around his torso. Prowl held Bumblebee tightly against his armour and leaned his head against the beetle’s. Bumblebee’s whole body heated, only because he was so close to Prowl, but that didn’t mean he didn’t like it.

“And what did I do to deserve so much attention?” Bumblebee said, his smile returning onto his faceplate.

Prowl shrugged and wrapped his legs around Bumblebee, holding the mech closer against his body. “I have no idea, maybe because you’re just cute?”

Bumblebee’s faceplate heated more. He loved and hated it when Prowl would say something like that. It made all his circuits heat. He broke the grip of Prowl’s arms and legs and turned around quickly, tackling the motorcyclist to the ground. Bumblebee let out a laugh as he just stared down at his ninja bot. Prowl smiled back at him and wrapped his strong black arms around his bug. Bumblebee dug his faceplate into Prowl’s chest.

“I know you’re scared of the woods, but don’t worry,” Prowl said softly. “I’ll protect you.”
