Description Love Triangle

I got home from work.  I was physically exhausted so I stripped my clothes off and took a shower.  I was just so happy to remember that when I get home, the man of my dreams was waiting for me in the bedroom.  Our story is simple, yet full of destiny’s hope.  We met at a supermarket and when our eyes met, I felt something.  I turned the handle of the shower off and dried myself off with a towel.  We’re meant to be.   He’s my fiancé actually.  Yes, we’re going to get married soon and have a happy ending, almost like other couples.  I put on some pajamas and walked into my bedroom.  When I turned on the light, I was surprised.  My fiancé wasn’t here.  Well…it’s not really a surprise; he hasn’t been home as much lately.  I assumed that he was working the night shifts again.  I opened up the covers of the bed and nuzzled my face into the pillow while snuggling in the warm, thick, fluffy blanket.  Then, I slowly drifted off to sleep.
I opened my eyes to loud crashing and banging noises downstairs, it was midnight.  I was scared for my life.  As I laid my hand onto the railing of the staircase, I heard two gunshots.  I quickly rushed downstairs to see what had happened.  I was horrified to see my fiancé bleeding on the floor as a shadowy figure exited the window.  I rushed over to him as quickly and swiftly as I possibly could and I called the ambulance while applying pressure to his side.
“Please! Send an ambulance! My fiancé has been shot twice! Hurry! ”
I heard sirens in the distance.  I jumped into the ambulance car with James, my fiancé.  He was rushed through the doors of the hospital, shot in the liver and his legs.  I ran next to the hospital cart going into the emergency room.
“JAMES HOLD ON!”  I yelled.
“MA’AM PLEASE GET BACK! HE NEEDS HIS SPACE!” One of the surgeons commanded, but I stayed next to the cart.  The cart continued moving and a group of nurses had to restrain me.  As I was being held back; tears flowed from my eyes, streaming down my cheeks.  I couldn’t bear to see James in the condition he was in, he had a respiratory mask attached to his face.  And all that blood… oh the thought of it is just dreadful! How could anyone do this to him?  I watched from behind the glass window of the operating room.  Tears filled my eyes; I laid my hand on the glass as I watched him.
Soon they finished the operation and I entered the room to see James.  I sat next to his bed.  Surprisingly, he awoke from his sleep, and then he glanced at me and gazed into my eyes.
“Marie… I’m sorry… I know I may die…so I guess it would be better to tell you this… a clean slate before I leave…” he stammered.
“But--,” I tried to tell him but he interrupted me.
“Marie, I know it was wrong of me to do, and I regret ever doing it,” As he spoke I continued to look at him, “I…I had an affair with a blonde woman while we were engaged,” He stuttered. Then he turned his head away to the opposite side of me and shut his eyes.  I stared blankly at him, while tears fell down my chin.
“James, I just came to tell you, that the doctors said you would be just fine,” I spoke with a slightly cracked voice but confidently. James turned silent and opened his eyes wide. It seemed to have shocked him. “James, how could you? How could you do this to the woman you were about to marry?  The woman, who loved you with all her heart? You hurt me bad this time James. You hurt me severely.  You broke my heart.  I thought we were meant to be, I thought you loved me too. So is all that talk of me being special just for you to get what you want?  Was everything you said to me…”I paused for a second, “…a lie James? Was it?”
“No! Marie, you’ve got to believe me, everything that you are is true.  Please you have to trust me!” he exclaimed.
“TRUST YOU?! You expect me to trust you after you cheated on me?” I started to walk out.  Immediately, James lunged out his hand and gripped onto my wrist tightly.
“Marie! Wait!” I looked back at him, looking at me, everything I saw in him, was an illusion.
“James, let go of me! You know James; I thought you were a one of a kind guy.  I thought I saw something good in you James, but I was very wrong.” I pulled my wrist back out of his grip and ran out of the hospital.  I burst through the doors, fleeing quickly.  I hid my face as I ran with the sleeve of my trench coat.  My tears trailed behind me.  Everything in my world began to crumble apart. It all started breaking like my heart.  My heart was aching and it was painful.  James shredded my heart away with what he had done.  While I ran, I stumbled over a ridge in the snow on the sidewalk and landed on the busy street.  I struggled to get up but my legs didn’t want to comply.  I looked up and I saw the bright headlights of a truck coming right towards me.  I was petrified.  Suddenly, I was grabbed by a man and he jumped; making both of us do a side roll and land on the other sidewalk on the opposite side.  I rubbed my head and glanced at him.  He was coughing and panting as I was.  He had dark brown hair, a slight beard, and semi-thick eyebrows.
“Why’d you do that?” I asked as I was trying to steady my breath.
“Why wouldn’t I do that?” He said while panting. We looked at each other for a few moments.  I felt something different with this man, although I may have only known him for about three minutes; I feel like I’ve known him all my life.  I hugged him tightly and cried on his shoulder.
“Thank you so much!”
“No problem,” he replied, “Hey, you look pretty cute when you blush like that.”
“Who, me?” I sniffled and blushed even more, “Thank you,” I smiled.
“Want to have some coffee with me sometime?”
“Sure, how about today? Right now sound good?” I asked.
“Yeah! Um, my name’s Koda. Nice to meet you…”
“Oh yeah! My name is Marie. Nice to meet you Koda!” Instead of giving him a handshake back to the one he offered me, I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. “Thank you so much again, Koda.”
“Anytime,” he replied as he blushed a little, but laughed trying to be self-controlled.
As time passed, Koda and I grew to love each other.  All the hurt James had done to my heart had been mended with Koda’s love for me.  We actually fell madly in love with each other and got married in a big cathedral.  Our wedding was wonderful! There were bouquets of white and red roses scattered all over the church pews.  My family was so big compared to his.  I was so happy as we made our vows.  Although I teared a bit during the whole wedding, Koda smiled at me reassuring me that everything is okay now, because he’s going to always be there for me when I need him.  We both smiled happily as we said “I do” and when we kissed, there was a great spark! Fireworks! And during the kiss, my family hired a man to release some doves, and it was just magnificent! From then on we had a few kids; two boys and two little girls, and we lived happily.  We did have some minor fights but after all of them, we always forgave each other …and he always came home on time.
