I'm curious. You say that this is an HDR shot, and that you use filters and Photoshop. At what point does a picture such as this cease to be a "photograph" and become a manip? Doesn't seem fair - to me, at least - that one finds photographs 'competing' (for lack of a better word) against images such as this which, yes - is indeed an amazing image! But does it still belong in the photographic category?

Sunset type pictures rarely catch my attention, but even in thumbnail size you can see that it is going to be one amazing image when seen full size, and so it was.

I have to learn to play with HDR, and find some time off work--this time of year it's dark when I go to work, and dark when I come home, and only Sunday off, darnit. Will try to shoot and post some Alaska photos soon... Love your work. Your gallery is always a treat to visit.

The color of the sky and the pattern of the clouds is just so different than anything I've ever seen in person or have ever seen in a photo of before. It just seems unreal it is so different.
