Description This is a drawing I did all the way back in high school (that would be the early '90s). This guy was going to be the final boss in a Double Dragon-style game my cousin and I had brainstormed--yet another game I never made. But despite my less-developed drawing skills at the time, this is still one of my personal favorite character designs. It would be a shame to let this character go to waste, but I'm not sure what to do with him. It wouldn't be hard to turn him into an anthro character (perhaps a jackal?) and use him in The Lizard Queen Chronicles or even in my Night Stalkers game.

Say...I've been a video game fan for a long time now, and do you know what game this reminds me of? "Splatterhouse"!

In case you don't recall that one, it came out some time in the early '90s, and was probably one of the most controversial games of that time, not counting Mortal Kombat. One of the first I recall to exploit the horror/slasher genre. It's this guy's mask and big weapon (it's easy to imagine it as a chainsaw), that brought that all to mind!

I do remember Splatterhouse, though I don't think I ever had the opportunity to play it. I'd expect Farrell to get comparisons to Jason Voorhees, who was the original hockey mask-wearing psycho and who was clearly the inspiration for the Splatterhouse guy as well. But the guy he reminds me of personally, and the guy who I think was the strongest influence on his design, is Casey Jones from TMNT. Hmm... Since the hockey mask thing has been done before, I think I'll give him a different kind of mask if I attempt to do a redesign.
