Practice, practice, practice. The only luck came from the fact that for most of my early drawing years, I couldn't see how absolutely terrible my art was, so I didn't know that I should have quit long ago. However, I stuck with it and here I am now. If I had spent that much time on learning robotics, I'd have an enormous robot army by now, and I'd have taken over the world. But I chose art, so here I am.

*chuckles* I could have helped with that robot army too...I do love to tinker with stuff ^-^ but I guess it's a good thing you stuck with your art because you are so great at it

Hey, thanks. I'd be a lot richer, though, if I ruled the world. I'd only eat Ramen because I WANTED to, not because I had to!

Some is better than others. I've found some authentic Japanese ramen in the international isle of the grocery store, and it's so much better than top ramen or the other crappy domestic ramen. Yum.

I tryed something called chow mein...or something simular I can't quite remember the name...but it reminded me of ramen, even better maybe...

It's called Shin Ramyun Noodle Soup by Nong Shim. It's in a red and black bag (mostly red) with Japanese writing all over it. It's VERY spicy. I like it because it has two packets - one you put in the water while it's cooking, and the other you mix in after the noodles are cooked.
Wow, talking about Ramen on my commission page... never thought it would happen...

I had an awesome teacher back in L.A. There was a great school that taught me so much more than the Big Art School I went to before that - sadly it's out of business...

Mmmm, I hear ya. I went to the high school which had the best Art class, and sure enough, the year I got there they closed it down.... So I'm entirely self taught.

I was self-taught for most of my life, but school really helped. I could have learned a lot of it on my own, but what I learned on a weekly basis in school might have taken me a year on my own. I learned some good things at the expensive big school, but learned way more at the small inexpensive school.

I hear ya. I feel I'm kind of caught. I like art as a hobby, but I cant see myself doing it as an occupation. At the same time, I cant fit art classes into my current class schedule, So I have to learn on my own.

Do you read ImagineFX? It's a great magazine that can be found at most Borders and Barnes & Nobles. Great tutorials there, and on their web site. It's like classes in a magazine, you can take them whenever you have free time. I learned a few of my tricks from those magazines.
