Goku suppose to be the anomaly, deviate from what the typical Saiyan character traits are: selfish, brutes, barbaric almost. The fact that they made Bardock care for his son(s) I think is absurd and devalues Goku's character. The whole motivation for Goku getting amnesia is written off.
