Arachnophobia is an irrational yet normal way to respond to a thing full of legs and hair and eyes that is potentially venomous and can potentially bite you
Scale it up a bit and you've got the perfect physical definition of a monster
So I know spiders are actually useful and stuff and if you must know I never kill spiders, I catch them and release them outside, but I'll leave the fuckers alone and I'm not going near one
And I mean have you ever seen the spiders in Skyrim ? You don't need arachnophobia to shudder to those

I have seen the ones in Skyrim, I think that they are bit scary because of the sheer size of them, but for most of them I can have them right next to me and I would just sit there and look at them.
and I know about Arachnophobia, but most people say that they have it. Phobias are severe fears about a certain thing, as if you see a spider you would flip out and get someone to get rid of it for you. You wouldn't even get close to it, and after its gone you would avoid the spot it was at for a while.

I know phobia is an extreme word, but at this point the term "arachnophobia" has pretty much passed into the common language as the term used to describe plain fear of spiders, whether it be extreme or no
