ANYWAY I've drawn pictures of Brightheart a couple of times, my first one is actually still in the top ten popular of all time for Brightheart here on dA! but I hadn't tried re-drawing the picture for like, 5 years, so I decided that I should try it again, especially since I've gone and re-read all the Warriors books and re-entered the fandom, and I gotta say I'm really happy with the result!!! though I feel like I could've spent more time making the rendering look cleaner

I must say, this has to be probably my favorite piece of Brightheart fanart. It's amazing! The colors blend in to each other like a rainbow. It has really no flaws, and the forest scene looks amazing! The legs look as if they could pounce at any moment and really resemble a real cat's. The markings are very original and creative! I have never seen markings like these on a piece of Brightheart artwork. Her face truly resembles the meaning of her name, which many artists (and normal people) really like. I hope for this to have no spams on its picture, either way, it will look proud and amazing. Great job! Continue making others smile.

The color, style, painting, and overall atmosphere is way beyond my understanding as a digital artist. All your colours and painting strokes are so cohesive while conveying texture, depth, and growth. Overall I am particularly fond of the lighting and shading techniques used on her body. Specifically the blues/greens utilized in the shadows. Brightheart's eyes stand out brimming in contrast to the warm tones used primarily in this piece (but accented by the splashes of blue flower in the foreground). I also think the berries was a very strong move because it relates to some of the more saturated places on her pelt.
Stylistically between the cartoonish vibe and consistency of your strokes I think it was quite powerful. As well, the character design is unique but portrays a strong sense of emotion and character. Hence her name Brightheart, the beams of sun create an subtle but evoking experience.
I also really enjoy the soft hues you selected on her scar. It's obviously a flesh wound but instead of a gruesome depiction you make them appear healed, scarred over, and charming with the femininity of her character.
My biggest constructive criticism is the anatomy. Even though I understand you are working with a difficult position in perspective, the head does not line up on the same plane in perspective and the body resembles that of a deer moreso than a feline. This is particular in the broad ham-hocks (she got some booty!), long slender legs, and barreled chest. I think the legs stylistically work in the characters favor and have always enjoyed this personification (?) in warrior cats however the thickness of the chest and placement of the ribcage sticks out to me.

yes I see where anatomy would be my downfall, I'm still a lil new to felines and their torsos and hind legs are a very unfamiliar, I'm working on improving that with both real life and stylistic studies, I am also definitely now realizing how her neck and head appear on a different plane, I'll be more careful with that positioning in the future

Awww of course! It's so beautiful. Your style and utilization of textures is so unique. Not to mention your grasp on color theory!!! Those hues. A lot of people either draw humans or animals- it's so amazing to see someone who excels at both.

tbh I didn't start drawing humans until like 6 years ago (compared to the vast majority of my life for animals) so I feel like I'm a bit slow like, drawing them compared to animals but I'm happy I'm working on both as well
NOW I JUST GOTTA FIGURE OUT HOW TO DRAW BUILDINGS since I can draw other backgrounds hahaha

First off, can I just say how GORGEOUS this piece is. The colours, the brushes, the shading, the lighting everything is spot-on! It beautifully depicts a a beautiful young cat taking a peaceful stroll through a forest on a warm, hazys ummers afternoon, and I adore your Brightheart design!
When I look at pictures of Brightheart, I always see her depicted as upset and glum, but you actually took in her proper name meaning, and aswell as her facial expression, the entire atmoshere fits with her personality perfectly!
Keep up the good work, and i can't wait to see more Warriors fanart from you!

ahhh mostly it's a lot of practice and studying things, also, I'd always suggest taking advantage of layer effects and such, I'm hoping to get a speedpaint of this up soon so you can see some of what I do for images like this
