I was so amazed by how faster and more efficient it was working with my wacom tablet rather than with a mouse that I absolutely had to share it.I worked on the hair for many hours on the first version, and I was not yet completely happy with the result. I finished and improved it in 2 hours or so with my tablet, and it was a lot easier and precise
I still have to work on the skin though.This is the coloring for that I'm working on since... december I think
I hope I'll finish it soon ^^
My favourite digital work so far... In CMYK so I can print it for my portfolio ^^

Of course^^ Using a tablet is a MUST for CG artists
Or if you can afford it...get them Cintiq's that allow you to use your tablet on screen so you are actually drawing "while" you see your image.

I can't afford the cintiq but I know it's wonderful... I bought the cheapest wacom I could find but it's still good... for a student

hey as long as it works^^ I got the 6 x 8 Intuos 2 years ago refurbished. It still works just like new

I was thinking really hard about buying an Intuos but I was in a hurry to have a tablet and I didn't have the money so... I tried graphire at school and though it was already way better than a mouse... I know that wacom makes good products that last long so even the cheapest is great. If I'm doing art as a job, I'll probably buy something better...
Can you really feel a big difference between Graphire and Intuos? I don't know if you tried both...

i've never tried both. Before I came to a decision to buy one, I read the stats and differences on their site between the two. The Intuoshas more levels of sensitivity. 1024 I think while the Graphire is 512. I wanted one that was mid-quality and not their cheapest one. I don't know personaly if you can see that difference or not but I just wanted to reassure myself that I was getting a very good one. I'm sure the Graphire is pretty decent but i have no personal expereince with them. Our school has the Intous 3 and it looks AWESOME!
