Here's a new PIC in relation to my story, but lets step back in time abit. This is a week after the day where Cynthia first found Hypon and before Nika joined the team. During that week, Hypon just gave out a bad behavior of not listening to Cynthia and just ignored her. The grey Riolu only relied on his own skills and got baddly hurt on his first Pokemon Battle. Cynthia seen these behavior with some of her Pokemon before, but Hypon is the worst. So why is he acting like this? Well it didn't take long as Cynthia found out that the Grey Riolu is afraid of thunder and lighting, realizing that Hypon has gone though them before all alone without his father and mother, he didn't relied on others to handle any situation. It was there that Hypon has grown attached to Cynthia as she promised to look after him, and that he'll never be alone again.

I have to say... this is partly inspired by a scene from a episode of Ouran High School Host Club. I personaly think it fits well here since Hypon's original mother left him when he was still in his egg, and his father passed away when Hypon was in his young age. Even though he did found friends like Aqua, he still can't hide the fact he has those fears. So naturally, he's afraid of thunder and lighting like I was.
