Description ...in the Chañares Formation. The smell of death attracted this Chanaresuchus to the riverbank. This young Dinodontosaurus may have survived the various predators that live here, but nothing could save it from the illness, now is just a corpse resting in the warm, wet sand, waiting to be eaten.

It turned out fine, I don't really see it as a copy. I see the influences of course, but that's more because there aren't any other paleoartists that use black and white together with worked out detailed environments afaik.

Practice, practice, do things, challenge yourself, *rest*( don't become stuck or frustrated)....
This is really good, reminds me of Henderson art!
