Description The best Star Wars movie... just a few moments before the memorable battle that ends up in the fatefull dialogue...

I was so excited about the Matt Busch videos "You can draw Star Wars" that I felt like doing some job in traditional media.

The consequeces of my excitment is that I didn't finished well the sketch before the painting process... so it ended up with some mistakes, especially in circle structure.

Anyway I really love the scenario created for this combat... the cloud city offered an epic enviroment for the confront.

-made with markers, color pencil and little ink on details-

Ps: Forgot to mention that this was a birthday gift for a friend, it has 29x42 (A3 size)

Other Star Wars stuff that I did, not so old as this one

A arte tradicional toma mais tempo, atualmente, alΓ©m da pintura digital, estou estudando um pouco de pintura Γ³leo.

Obrigado

Aw man!
I forgot about ObiWan vs Grievous in Revenge of the Sith!
That was a pretty sweet fight!
I'll need to rethink my list.

Okay, I think I got it this time:

5. Obi Wan vs. Anakin on Mustafar
3. Yoda vs. Palpatine on Courosant
4. Grievous vs Obi Wan
3. Yoda vs Count Dooku on Geonosis
2. Luke vs. Vader rematch on the Death Star II
1. Luke vs. Vader on Bespin

I think that covers it.
And, I gotta say, really sweet work, Empire Strikes Back is probably my favorite movie in the Star Wars saga. Thanks so much for sharing!

I'm curious, what brand of markers did you use? At first glance, I honestly thought it was watercolor.

Beautiful job!

Thank you very much!

This was "prismacolor" from my brother, but over it I used color pencil.

But I strongly suggest Copic CIAO

You're quite welcome.

I'm a huge fan of the Copic Sketch markers myself with their brush tips. I've used Prismacolor markers in the past, but I never got the results I was looking for.

I'm simply curious to see what different artists' preferences are in different situations. It's always something that I've found intriguing.

That's nice!

I got a chance to use Copics in this one [link]

I like CIAO just because of that "brush like" tips. But I still can't paint onlywith markers, cause I'm not good enought at it, that's why I use colorpencils above it. But in the future I hope to do some good-markers only illustration.

Its taken some practice for me; I by no means am perfect at it either.

But hey, I as long as you get the desired effect you want for a piece, that's the important thing. There's no shame in mixing media.
