You're making some crazy stuff with this groboto...for someone like me who's still learning about 3D, is it worth investing in a copy?

mmm i think Bryce for beginning. I only bought Groboto about a week ago so I am still learning - whatever i make in that i export to Bryce. I am still learning stuff about Bryce and theres sooo much stuff for it you can download for free and tons of tutorials on the net. But what is really weird i actually found out more about Bryce by using Xenodream. So I would wait on Groboto for the time being, honestly you would probably look at it and go: "Hellllp!!!" There is hardly any tutorials on it. Whereas Xeno and Bryce you can make something cool in a few minutes, if that makes sense. Bryce 5.5 is free for both Mac and Windows at download.com. One of these days I am going to look at Blender, I have heard mixed reviews about it.

Well, I've already got a copy of bryce, which is going alright, so I think I'll take a look at xenodream.

Thanks for the advice!

hey coolies - if you want after you download the trial version i will email you some of my parameters so you get the feel for it - there's a whole lot that come free with the program, but some i cant make any sense out of, mine are on the simple side

I love the detail and intricacies of this piece! Great job!

By the way...what mirroring thing are you referring to?

luchare In reply to Last-Blast [2008-03-29 22:53:49 +0000 UTC]

like when someone does a sphere, and some sort of way they arrange the mirrors so the sphere is duplicated many times far off into the distance. unless its some sort of vanishing point thing combined with the mirroring.

Ohhh I get what you're saying. I did a picture similar (I think) to what your referring to...I used one of Bryce's booleans, I think it was the 5 sided thingy mapped in "mirror"and enlarged really big.

Is this like what you mean? --> [link]

oh boy thats cool, yes exactly what i mean - seems to have it down to a science, i mean i am only assuming he uses that method. Wiht Funhouse-silver - was that just one sphere that you used? i'm jealous!

Oh wow! you're not kidding! He's got that technique down pat!

For that picture I used two spheres, one on top of the other...and thank you

Wow! Our worlds are comming. Mechanical worlds in imminent contact.

A question technique:
Groboto can import objects from other programs?

Your works are also a imspiracion for me.
muchas, muchas thanks.

thank you so much! I don't think Groboto can import but it does export objects. i only bought it last week and thought i knew what i was doing but i still think there is lots to learn in it, like changing the shapes and mutations has got me scratching my head.
