The team at Steinhart Valley started the year out pretty quiet, they were all preparing this years show horses while they had a little downtime before shows started in full force. It didn't seem like very long before the show roster emails started rolling in, so far Amber had competed at one show early on in the year, she decided that this year that she would show a majority of the horses at competitions. While Amber was out excersising a few young horses in the outdoor arena, she was called up to the fence by Amelia, who then informed her that Beyond The Emebrs was hosting a Futurity for all BTE progeny horses, stating that she sighed her up to show Smooth Whisky in a handful of classes. Amelia grinned as she dismounted the horse she was riding, conversing with Amelia as she walked the horse back to the stables. Now this Futurity gave Amber the best excuse to give Whisk a few refresher exercises, riding Whisk for the next few weeks to get her in her best physical shape for the show. The date for the BTE Futurity finally came around, and Amber got Whisk preparred to spend a few days at Beyond The Embers, loading the car and float up with all the neccessities that they would need, including clothes for herself, tack, feed and grooming supplies. Once everything was packed, Amber went and retrieved Whisk from her stall, giving her a quick groom before loading her into the float and heading off to BTE. This show was a great distance from Steinhart Valley, making the driving a short two hours from their home stable.

Amber pulled into Beyond The Embers, parked the car and unloaded Whisk, leading her into the stables and getting her comfortable in her temporary stall for the next few days. Once Whisk was sorted in her stall, Amber unloaded the car and float. After settling in for a couple days, Amber would take Whisk out for quick rides in the arena, making sure she was still good to compete in the classes tomorrow. At sundown, Amber gave Whisk a good clean, grooming any imperfections, dirt and dust out of Whisk's coat, throwing on a show rug so that she wouldn't get too dirty in her stall overnight. Once released back into her stall Amber emptied her mixed feed into the stall feed tub, giving Whisk a goodnight pat and heading to bed.

Morning of the show was quite cool, Autumn has just started and you could feel it in the early morning breeze. Amber got dressed in her show clothes, making sure her boots were shiny, before heading off to the stables and where she would give Whisk one last groom before putting her show halter on and leading her to the outdoor arena where the Halter class was about to start. When announced the class was starting Amber lead the champagne mare into the arena, where they completed a trot up and squared up for inspection.
