I realized something after I made this fractal. Sometimes I'm in this sort of automatic offhand artistic mode when I'm talking to my muse online. I'm sure some of my previous artworks were made in this mode, but I think I haven't given it much thought before. I'm not even focusing that much on what I'm creating, my mind is elsewhere, involved in the conversation. Perhaps that lets me roam some shallow waters of my subconsciousness, drawing out vague feelings/thoughts without going off the deep end like I usually do.

There is certain discomfort in this fractal flame, it's way too chaotic in compare with my usual style but I promised myself I will try out new things, so I explored it long enough to make it work somehow without throwing it away in a fit of frustration. I admit I feel sort of accomplished here because I didn't fall back on using spherical final xform (my usual pick for most flames) but used foci instead, while I also avoided including both spirals in the pattern. Early versions were made with polar2, which looked highly unusual/interesting but perhaps too weird for already weird enough base.
