Oh okay... It just that mostly assimilate Paladins with Ankhs with Ultima... I never played the very old stuff... I mean, I was introduce into fantasy in 2003....

Before pantheons of Gods and their holy symbols were established for most tabletops, Ankh was like default holy symbol for clerics and paladins (mostly because they didn't wanted to use Judeo-Christian symbols).
You still can see traces of this trend in some JRPGs (tabletop or computer) since Japanese RPGs were heavily influenced by Western RPG tradition.

Yeah I do see the point.... today even the most "Christian Like" of fictionnal religions tried to invent different symbols .....
Like Warcraft's Church of the Holy Light: very christianlike religion but look at their symbol:
