On dockers and soldiers yes - but large tattoos on girls? - it honestly looks as if someone has vomitted blue cheese...
Any fashion statement that is PERMANENT is a mistake. Imagine having an eighties headband permanently attached to your head by staples... or seventies flares grafted to your legs. You'll look so foolish in one or two years when fashion changes. No point is saying that you won't care - they've already followed fashion once - they will care.
A good looking girl that looks after her body, keeps it clean and pristine and in full working order is so RARE these days. There are SO many ordinary girls with tattoos and piercings and add-ons that think they are special. It is not special. It is dull, boring, an increasingly out-of-date fashion statement that you need a surgical process to remove.

Regardless of how closed minded I am, she will still have that tattoo in 10 years but I will have changed my clothing.

I never disputed that - I am sure she is happy to wear it now and hopefully forever and ever. I do hope so, for her sake, as she has no longer has a choice.
