I was listening to Smooth McGroove's new cover song, "Final Fantasy VII- One Winged Angel" (www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s2058… ) and what with the song's awesomeness accompanied with the gameplay footage of Sephiroth (no matter how low-poly), I just HAD to draw an awesome angel!

So this angel isn't Sephiroth, but it is inspired by the FFVII version of him (37.media.tumblr.com/93964e8d97… ).

I had a LOT of fun with this one, especially with trying a more painterly style of shading! I also alternated between realistic-proportion and religious-proportion wings. (Often in religious paintings wings aren't very realistic, and I wanted to include some of that wing style here.)
