As one who read the book first (combining it with the knowledge of the first two films, with Azog being alive), that's pretty much what I was expecting of the final battle before I saw it. This certainly gives Fili a more honorable end...
Really do like this. Beyond the pleasing concept, it's genuinely eye-appealing.

Wish it was this way even though I would dread it. I didn't like how they killed the brothers. . .especially the way they did off with Fili! Loved the rest but that part just. . .ugh.

Very nice, lots of detail, book cannon with PJ characters, if only we could have seen it on film. Sigh.

Oh, if only. Such nobility would have been far better suited to the Heirs of Durin than the treatment they actually received. I am still bitter about it. I'm glad you got the scene right.

As it should have been in the movie, though in my mind I will imagine this is when the Durins take the upper hand. I really like that you have this on a slight angle. It gives an off kilter feel that is appropriate to the scene.

this is really painfully heartbreaking     before BoFA premiere I was deadly scarred it will be like this in the movie-I mean, I just so wished Thorin wouldn't has to watch the boys die for him!! on the other hand, as it was I cried like hell cos, you know, Thorin sacrificed himself to kill Azog, yes for the dwarves and all that but he also did it to save Kili...not knowing he is already dead...so in a way it felt as if he sacrificed himself 'for nothing'
